Now I'm thinking, which looks better? Leave them behind the grille or remove the bar in the bumper and space them out there?

I vote for #1 as well. Just looks a bit cleaner - which I prefer.

Looks better without. What is the purpose of them? Your s8 plus the 5 other lights don’t already give enough output?

I had them on my 2013 so I wanted to find a spot for them since they were expensive.

What about using them as ditch lights and maybe some chase lights?

Not in the grille. Make the ditch lights 2 straight and 2 angled to the side.

Top one for sure, the pods in the grill seem a little overkill, keep it simple man.

I don't know much about lights, but I would keep them behind the grille and point them at an angle towards the sides of the truck. Essentially working as Ditch lights but hidden behind the grille. Your lower bar provides enough coverage directly in front of the truck. Your s8 will throw light a ways down the road so those behind the grille can hit the areas to the left and right and give you almost full visibility in front of you.

So I took the lights out. I didn't like the one touching the grill or the cooler. After putting it back together, the grill is being a pita with alignment. The gap where it meets the bulge is twice the size on the drivers side. Now the body lines are not lining up with the bulge either. I also do not like the gaps between the grill and surround on the sides. It actually broke 1 clip mount on one side of the surround....I had to JB Weld it. I spent all day messing with it and I'm really pissed off with the whole install. I will most likely order another OEM Sport honeycomb grill and throw this one a way. A waste of $800.

That sucks, I had it when stuff like that happens. Glad I'm not the only one who's OCD gets the best of them.

I don't know if it would sell it on here or not. Maybe someone with more experience with this type of grill would mess with it.

Man... that sucks about the grill. Maybe it just was not meant to be. Hopefully you're not pissed at all of us who provided the feedback. ;)

As far as the grill, maybe upgrade to the newest TRD Pro. :boink:

Also, I just remembered that my friend has those lights on his '16 TRD Pro and it actually looks pretty clean with the '16 TRD Pro grill (assuming you would like to keep the lights). If you want, I can try to snap a picture today or Monday.

Now that I'm thinking about it, someone else on here had their Trex grill cause issues as well. If I recall, it broke the clips and sagged. I think it puts too much stress on the weak mounting points on the surround.

Not bad. I'm still pissed off at the whole mess. I'm half tempted to sawz all the thing in half and send pics to Trex.

I would cut it into many pieces and ship it back to them. The more pieces, the cheaper the shipping (you'll be able to use a smaller box). Hey, maybe you'll get your money back. :notsure:
