What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

My airbedz arrived today. I intentionally bought the wrong model, because the one they listed for the Tundra was $250 more expensive, and you needed to use an extra inflated piece to extend the length.

This one fits great, there is a little sag near the wells, but nothing that would impact sleep, and it's just the right size to fit me (I'm 6'2)

 

nothing like buying sr5 base model or sequoia parts to black out the silver parts in the pro. The sr5 black radio trim and air vents should be here tomorrow, and then the fun dash tear down can start.

the doors were surprisingly easy, gave me a little bit of confidence for pulling all the tabs on the dash as well.

 

Looks great, how much for 4 of those sequoia handles?

 

I got them during that 25% off and free shipping sale from some of the dealers a week or two back, but it was somewhere around $95 shipped.

a quick search on the part numbers looks like most dealers have them at $32-34 as there normal sell price.

 

So the handles are from the Sequoia parts list? I have an SR5 and my handles are silver. Or if you would like, please share the part numbers

Oh I’ve watched a few lol, trying to build that confidence in ripping it all apart just to do the vents and radio trim lol. With a 4 year old and a 6 year old, every project has a random deadline of when the kids need dad sooner then later, so hoping to rip threw it efficiently.

 

There are some great videos that explain it much more in depth , the basic explanation is by replacing the factory fuse with the GM diode it takes the voltage from the alternator from around 13 volts with the truck running to around 14.5 volts while running. It satisfies the AGM battery charging voltage. Helps recharge AGM batteries. Hope this helps answer your questions

Those are really nice, had to scroll through my photos to remember what my hirevs look like. How much were they?

 

I picked up a five pack , planning on doing this same mod to the girlfriends 4runner. FYI you will have to file the small plastic tabs on the side of the diode down to fit in the factory slot.

Finished the door cover pieces for the interior silver strip in the daughter’s truck. The picture is without a coat of clear on them but they are all finished, all we have to do is attach them this weekend.

 

Well got the Bilstein shocks installed today. I think it got rid of the vibration in the truck. Will know better tomorrow when I am doing 65-70 down I-30. Biggest hurdle was getting my hands on the bushings for the shocks. Bilstein requires stock Tundra bushings. The ICON bushings were too small to fit the 5160’s. The only place I could find them locally was Toyota.NAPA and the other auto shops did not have any available even on their web site to order. Called a local shop that does a lot of modifications and performance upgrades. PAD in Scappoose Or. Awesome shop in my area. Anyway asked them if they had any bushings, they hooked me up no cost. I am a customer of theirs but service is top notch.

Are these overlays?

 

They look to be the oem ones from the door, if you want to remove them normally you take the whole door panel off, cut the melted/plastic welds handing it to the door panel, then paint, and to reattach use something like a jb weld epoxy etc.

 

I actually like the look of those more than most aftermarket tails I've seen...
