Hey everyone. Probably a common question, just couldnt find answers in the threads. Anyways so i have a 2012 tundra 4wd, has 100k miles on it. Just bought it a few months ago has a leveling kit on it with oversize tires but thats about it. The issue im experiencing when i have the steering wheel fully cranked to the right it makes a mild clunk clunk clunk noise, its not loud but i can feel it in the steering wheel. The truck drives straight and zero issues other than that. Only on hard right turns either if i going forward or reverse i still feel it in the steering wheel. Any ideas what this could be? Thankyou in advance for any replies and ill answer any questions the best i can

I had an issue similar to this in a previous vehicle, and the oversized tires were rubbing on plastic pieces in the wheel well when the steering wheel was fully turned. Some zip tying and relief cuts helped.

Secondly most vehicles don’t like to be cranked in 4wd, with the combo of leveling kit and tires yours might just like it even less.

I will definitely check that. But just now started doing it has got me curious. If there is no rubbing what are the other possibilities that it could be. Im at work and will check after to see if there is any rubbing

could be loose or worn steering, suspension components. If you have the OR skid plate(non TRD) larger tires can often rub/hit them unless you trim it.

Probably not even associated but my Express van had the sway bar connection come loose which caused clunking. Nothing like that on my Tundra so far.
