    I’ve had it with Toyota and their shit customer service. I submitted a claim over two months ago to be reimbursed for fixing my front turn signal lights and it’s still “under review” by Toyota for approval.
    In case you forgot, the front turn signals were too dim and they ended up issuing a recall. I realized long before the official recall that the lights were too dim and replaced them with much brighter LEDs.
    This is so cut and dried simple. They’re choosing to be dicks and hold off for as long as they can to reimburse me. Can’t stand this big corporate bullshit!!!

    How much we talking here like $20 in LEDs? I'm not familiar with with the blinker recall but Toyota has been putting around on the headlight recall going on 7 months or more. Yeah it seems like they are dragging their feet but I'm sure it's not as black and white as it seems on our end. The headlight issue can cause fires. Big liability. And still no fix at this time. I'm not worried about it I just swapped them out of my own pocket

    I don’t buy crap $20 LEDs. These were replaced with VLEDS and it set me back $175. I don’t like fixing things twice.

    This has nothing to do with the lights or the cost or anything other than terrible customer service. If they issued a recall, which they should have, why should I be stuck with the bill?

    All claims regarding the lighting are on hold until the fix is released. The recall mentions the harness as a possibility so of course yours will be on hold as well. Don't stress it.....life is too short.

    Usually in situations like this the asshats in customer service will spend far more in labor making excuses and going in circles than they would if they just paid the claim. Sort of comical. However, after about the 5th email, I demand to be contacted by the department Manager so that we can schedule an in depth conference call with every "excuse maker" and discuss wise business practices. This usually results in my claim being processed promptly. Go figure!

    Not stressed at all. They said nothing about it being on hold, they accepted the claim and it has to go through an official review that can take 6-8 weeks in the best case scenario before sending a check.

    It’s the truth. They have taken a claim from $175 to at least double that in man hours. I’ve talked to 6 customer service reps and received a dozen or so emails. They layers of bureaucracy are so deep it’ll cost them 3-4 times as much by the time they actually pay it. And I can’t imagine any customer walks away happy that Toyota was so good to work with!

    Not at all. I was never told it could take 6-8 weeks until today. All the times I talked to customer service, no one said anything about it being such a long process. “Best case scenario” would have been resolved months ago.

    I installed the Vleds before there was a recall. I investigated my front blinkers after getting flipped off twice in the first two weeks of ownership.

    That's a rate of one bird/week.
