True that! Hopefully it will only get used when I'm airing up/down all the tires at once at night. ;)

First time I have ever saw one damaged in that spot. It's usually a guide tab that is broken.

Is it deal breaker if the guide tab is broken? I have one on order and hopefully it is delivered undamaged.

Where did you order the Grille and bulge from? What Grille did you get? Let us know how the bracket works.

No. The grill has 3 clips that snap in on the bottom along with 4 bolts and 2 push clips on the top.

Nice. Solved two issues at the same time.

Since I did not need the seat mod I just put my E50 in the door pocket along with my flashlight. Fits perfetctly and its always accessible. Same for my wife's Titan. It is a great piece of safety gear if you ever need one.

I was a little surprised too, but it was not really supported on one end very well, just some shipping paper on the end, other than that the package was well done. It did travel like 3k miles and took over 2 weeks to get here too, a lot of time for stuff to go wrong.

I ordered the older style Pro grill and bulge from Sparks. I will keep you guys up to date on my experience with the bracket too.

I agree, it's a great piece of kit to have on hand. I have a couple more coming for other spots but my thought was to mount at least one very securely in reach of the drivers seat in the off chance of a rollover or accident that could dislodge it and send it flying.

I ordered 2 Pro Grilles from Sparks and both arrived damaged. I ended up returning them both for a full refund and ordered a third one from Lewis Toyota in Kansas. Sparks uses FedEx and Lewis uses UPS. The boxes arrived in completely different conditions. The delivery company makes a difference. Lewis even beat Sparks on the price.

Good point on the roll over scenario.

In that case I am already a gonner due to all the flying objects in my truck. Ha.

I agree, fed ex delivered my exhaust too and I'm surprised all the little bits didn't fall out of the holes and openings in the box. I get the shipping business is insane these days but I've never had good luck with fed ex.

On another note I already had the "clean your sensor" malfunction this morning with the new AJT sensor mount. It is raining and I know it's a problem for these but it's the first time I'm seeing it. The sensor is also sitting behind the stock grill, so maybe that's causing a problem too. It did clear itself after about 5 miles.

@2020Platinum relocated his sensor down behind the lower part of the surround without any issues. I know that a few have had issues with the relocation bracket, but I don't remember if it was the AJT or Jomax.

Those little things are pretty mickey-mouse and require you to get right up on the fire. I'd recommend investing in a conventional extinguisher to go along with it.

I had ordered TRD Pro LED lights, got them but driver side has a broken tab. They are sending a replacement. I purchased a plastic weld kit in case the new one has a bad tab too. I would fix the one and use it, but I will wait and see if the replacement is good. My current lights are fine, so a delay is no big deal. ot my Ihacker harness

Lifted the truck several weeks ago and there was front end alignment with install. It was not right however. So took it to the alignment shop I always use yesterday and it feels much better. Also installed a carrier bearing drop with some aluminum spacers I had laying around. I am going to drive and test some, I may need to add a washer on each side. Current drop is about a half inch, I think a need a tad more.

There are pros and cons to every known fire extinguishing system, I would agree that a combination approach of equipment would lead to an optimum result in a best/worst case scenario event. That being said, the best tool to use to put out a fire may be the one that you have readily at hand when the need arises. Also, one that will be in a condition to perform as designed when you go to use it.

My thinking in stationing a small solid propellant extinguisher within ready reach inside the cab of the truck is that it might allow for suppression of a fire in its incipient stage to allow enough time for occupants of the vehicle to exit safely. If it can knock down a small electrical or possibly leaking fuel fire in the cab long enough to get out then it has done its intended job. Because of its design you could then drop it inside where it would continue to deploy unattended until exhausted, and it could continue to "break the fire chain" and possibly suppress flame further. Another consideration for its use inside an enclosed space is its lack of toxicity to occupants in close proximity, CO2 can be a killer if deployed in a small enclosed area and dry chemical is not something that you want to inhale much of either.

I wouldn't want to use a solid propellant extinguisher to enter an enclosed space or to try and approach and put out a fully involved fire, or even use it outside in windy conditions. I have a conventional type extinguisher in my Crossbin box under my Diamondback cover for possible use in those circumstances. Even a five pound conventional extinguisher is way more bulky to store and access inside our relatively huge cab, and there are the maintenance inspections that must be performed to assure that it is in a usable state when needed.

So this happened a couple of weeks ago... Haven't been able to post about it until I had more answers and was in a better head space...

    3D216ED7-F1BD-4E35-AD3B-7C24769702A1_1_105_c.jpg A08DC1EA-EF7F-4CDA-B611-495CD77D13C4_1_105_c.jpg 3A80DE57-FA6F-4D49-B271-2268A42559A4_1_105_c.jpg 0FEA68E9-36FC-4A3B-8894-660062930F1F_1_105_c.jpg

A confused, 87 yo guy was "out to get groceries" at 04:00 and had some kind of a 'medical incident' and piled into the back of my parked truck at 40-50kmh. He was of course driving without a license or insurance. Poor guy, he wasn't wearing a seat belt AND the airbags didn't deploy. Cops feared he was a goner, but he pulled thru.

Moved the truck 12' forward and onto the boulevard, but the other car submarined under the frame/bumper/hitch, so minimal body damage ($20k! Ha!) They'll replace the bedside panel, tailgate, bumper, hitch, and transaxle which slid 1.5" forward on the springs. Canopy shifted forward and caused minor damage to the cab as well.

The good news is that the guy lived, it's all covered by insurance, there's no frame damage, and the parts are almost all here. Bad news is I have to drive an F150 until it's done.
