Anyone have any experience that can help?

I have a 2018 Tundra. I bought a center console safe from the dealership in 2020. Right now I cannot change the digits on the dial unless the reset button is engaged. I have the key and the key won't turn the dial to unlocked. Before I do the work to drill in and replace can anyone save me?

Could be the wrong key. Do you have other keys?

It's worked in times past. Unfortunately I only have one key.

I'm not familiar with these locks. I presume when it worked properly it could be unlocked with either the key or the combo, you didn't need both?

Vibration will sometimes free up a jammed lock. I learned this trick when I owned a Mercedes that had a reputation for having ignition lock cylinders wear, then jam up. Do you have an orbital or vibrating sander? If so, remove the sandpaper and hold the sanding pad on the face of the safe while you try to work the key and/or the digits back and forth. Use the edge of the sanding pad to apply vibration to various places around the face of the safe. This isn't an exact science -- you're just hoping to jiggle something out of it's jammed up state. If you get it open, don't close and lock it again until you get the locking mechanism working as it should. Hopefully you can remove the locking mechanism from the inside and either service it yourself or take it somewhere to be serviced. With the Mercedes, once you got the lock cylinder in the ON position, the whole thing could be removed in about 30 seconds. But if you couldn't get it to ON, it had to be drilled out.

Good luck! Let us know how you make out.

If you can get the lock open you can find out if you have the correct key.
Along the one side of the cam will be a three numbers that should match the key's number. If they don't match then you need a key with the same number. Ie 345 cam needs a 345 key.

You can order a new set of keys off the Internet. https://www.gokeyless.com/product/combi-cam-7440-master-keys/
You will need to call and let them know the number off the cam.

OR you can order a new lock with keys. Just need to make sure you get the same cam length. I think the one on that console safe is an FJM Combi-Cam Ultra 7440 7/8inch cam length. https://www.combi-cam.com/Combination-lock-with-key-override.htm

    Hope this helps.

I had this happen to my Tuffy safe in my last Tundra. I only had the key option, so I called the company. They advised me to drill it out and they sent me a new lock. Boy was that a pain in the arse and made a mess. My new Tundra has the Gulf Coast safe that came with my truck with the digital lock. So far so good.

I looked at the website you linked to but it looks like they only sell to retailers.

Try compressed air in the lock. Something might have dropped in and preventing the lock from working. I would also try a little WD40 and the sander method that was already mentioned.

Try a little graphite dry lubricant, it's meant for locks.
