I don't know either. Maybe something in the software?

I have several wiring harness running in the engine bay for lights, Yellowbox, and my compressor. I tucked everything in as much as a could so I hope they don't pay any attention to it. I've been going to the same smog place for years, I started getting a rapport with them. I'm hoping they don't spot it. I'll keep you guys posted when I take the truck in on Wednesday.

That should work if you have to go that route

I know in CO there is a threshold where if it costs too much to repair you can get a smog waiver. Mine passed easily and they don't do a visual so I didn't need to worry about it, but maybe CA has a similar thing. Get a dealership quote for $5,000 to replace everything :eek2:

CA does have a program to fix your vehicle to pass SMOG but you need to qualify and that's based on income. If I get the truck back today, and if I have time I'll take it to get smoged to see if it passes the computer test. I don't think I'll have an issue with the visual.

    Keep you guys updated soon.
