That's it! I need to stop huffing freon so I can understand all this jibberish. :D

Actually, it's a good explanation. I mostly thought purging the system was primarily an environmental thing but it's good to know the science.

    Campus cops though…..:D

I got pulled over doing 27 on a 25 mph road.

Also a 30 minute registration check & lecture for me checking my car passenger side was locked from the outside before attempting to run back to the dorm to get to a party.

    Really really OEM
Started mocking up my new factory 2.25" to 2.5" single in to a 3" single out, and got me some lightly used 07 FJ wheels and new tires as well. A/T1 255 70 17 tires to wrap them in

I’ve been too busy to catch up. But, the damn arms are in. I kinda suck because what it thought was 3-4 hours became 8.
I should have known. More on these things later.

Well paint didn’t come off as easy as I wanted it to, letting momma have some time off to get her nails done I was chasing children all day and getting frustrated…needed a small victory to keep momentum going so…rear diff breather mod installed! Should’ve been a one Busch light job but took two because I deserved it

Nah. Mine comes off the back of the head unit. It's primarily there for the purpose of attaching an iPod and doing firmware updates for my head unit.

I have two-port high-amp cig lighter chargers for charging my phone.

Timing belt is done and truck is assembled, except for alternator charge cable and coolant. I didn't finish last week because I tried breaking the crank bolt without the special tool and failed with other methods. I ended up ordering it and the bolt was off within a minute of opening the package. I'm going to pull the throttle body tomorrow after work and give it a good cleaning and touch the upper manifold too. I also need to cut and crimp for the my charge cable and grounds. I have two gallons of Toyota long life coolant and two gallons of distilled water to start putting in the new radiator, realistically I won't start the truck until next weekend because life.

If the timing belt did not have marks on it, you could not tell the difference between the two - mileage is at 165k. The truck sees a lot of dust which was evident behind the timing covers, but it has been parked inside all of its life except for trips. There was some coolant built up around the water pump; perhaps the water pump would have gone first. I turned the cam sprockets clockwise one tooth clockwise to help with getting the belt on and overturned them ever so slightly, but should be good after reading others' experience which was similar. I turned the crank over two full rotations and all three marks were still in sync.

Pic heavy for future reference and to help others, sorry not sorry.

Loosening and torquing the cam bolt, buy this tool as suggested by others - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q1W36L7?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details. The tool can also be used to bring the engine back to top dead center after the crank bolt is loose. Air tools didn't work in my experience, and an electric impact won't fit. To loosen, VERY IMPORTANT, cut a very small 2x4 or find something similar to place on your passenger frame horn. This is necessary so the tool that holds your crank steady will not hit your cooler lines. I put a 1/2" breaker bar on the tool and reinforced the breaker bar with a piece of pipe. A few pushes on my torque wrench and it was off. With socket attachments you could also put your steady breaker bar under the driver frame horn, but watch out for the oil filter.

    tundy (54).jpg

Torquing the crank bolt - set your torque wrench to 181 ft/lbs if you haven't already. Pretty much do the same steps as above, except keep your steady breaker bar on the driver's side and push your torque wrench clockwise.

    tundy (3).jpg

If you're having trouble getting the A/C compressor into the bracket, use a screw driver to gently pry the compressor where it lines up with the bracket and work the bolts in with your fingers.

Coolant build up around water pump weep hole:

My pulleys were pretty dirty, so was my fan and fan clutch. #offroadtrucklyfe Took the time to clean those and also replaced the fan clutch with new Toyota OEM. My fan shroud and timing covers were all pretty dirty too so cleaned them inside and out. Also installed new Gates HD green serpentine belt.

    tundy (21).jpg

    tundy (24).jpg

Do the AC/ RC truck fan shrouds also say SUV on them?

New upper and lower radiator hose, new Aisin thermostat as well, FIPG and all.

    tundy (28).jpg

    New radiator finally going in:

    tundy (27).jpg

It fits! And the hood closes! The supplied fan shroud bolts were too small and so were the original, so I used my own.

I'd have to see a picture of what you're referencing, but the shroud was just the two pieces. It could have fallen off too, parts are known to do that with this truck...

I might go back to all stock, but I have DuroBumps in the rear of the arms. I've done 4 corners, spacers, rear corners, a combination of that. Eventually, I'll be done with front end and just maintain it - not today.

    And here's the rub.
Alignment is crazy off. Maybe I totally farmed my marks, or maybe it's that much of a geometry change. I test drove and parked and did an eyeball adjustment to get the tires to stop burning. No big deal, I expected some rad changes there.
What I did not expect was the lowering of the front. My front tires are somewhat stuffed. I think I can handle that with my coilovers, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to wrap my head around what that's all about. The Kings look like they are more compressed under the same weight, or adjusted differently.. If that's it, I'll just turn the collars. But for the moment, I'm in oh Fak mode.

I'll get pics in the morning, I promise. I should have taken a pic of my crazy toe, but I was too freaked out and started adjusting stuff. That actually looks pretty normal now. This part sucks: I think I need to get it aligned, and then adjust the coilovers and get it aligned. I may try to work a frequent flyer deal.

Those clips come off and allow the bottom round piece to come off. That's the only removable piece I've seen. That's how my AC was.

I wonder if the shock tabs are a little lower on those arms. It wouldn't take much to make a noticeable difference in your stance.

Sometimes when alignment gets messed up enough it will adjust your stance. The last few times I made adjustments on my front end, after alignment the fender gap changes. Could be that your camber is a bit off and causing your tires to hit the ground funny.
