    I bought a 2012 4x4 5.7L Crewmax...SR5 with TRD package

It has 125k miles, but easy...it is very clean.

I have it scheduled for service at a Toyota only shop....gonna get all the fluids changed...half the price of dealership.

It has the TRD shocks and has low profile tires. I'm thinking to put on KYB road shocks and Michelin/Yokohama road/all season tires. Has anyone done this, ans has it made the ride any better?

Also...the battery is the one that came with it from new. Replace it with a standard non AGM Interstrate?

Also shocks and tires. It is TRD package and am looking forward to a smoother ride with KYB shocks and new 70 aspect road tires. Will this make a difference at all?

I have only had the truck for a few days but I love it. Adult owned and regularly oiled? Yep. $24k. Zero issues beyond the horn not working.

the Bilstein that comes stock are pretty good. Start with new tires. I’d definitely replace the stock battery but I’d go AGM Northstar

Welcome! I would not do KYB. If you need shocks 5100s are great and not crazy expensive.

While I have always put KYBs on pretty much everything I've owned, I too would recommend Bilsteins. You could level the front off in the process if you don't plan to tow or regularly have tons of weight in the bed.

    Thanks, all.

For shocks, I just want something with a smooth highway ride. It is not going to be taken off road as long as I own it.

For tires, same thing. It has Cooper off road tires that are 3 years old, but I'd like good all season highway tires.

5100s and stock tires would likely keep you happy. Leveling just makes the front the same height as the rear so it looks a bit better.

The Hewitt bypass is the first thing I did to my 08 when I bought it, even though I had no SAIP codes. I also preventatively installed the ECGS front diff bushing.

I’d look for a set of the tundra takeoffs (black) on FB marketplace or Craigslist,
Or even this forum. They’re pretty soft and, I thought, a smooth ride. I’d be willing to bet if you put in some effort on searching you’ll find a pair of brand new stock all season takeoff tires to go with them for next to nothing.
A lot of people pull this stuff off with hardly
Any miles on them for new wheels/tires/lift.

    I second the Northstar battery.

If it doesn’t have one, I’d add a swaybar.

For me, it made the driving much more predictable. There are a few posts on sway bars and how much difference they make. Just make sure to get an OEM one.

For smooth highway tires, they don't get any better than Michelin Defenders. Congrats and welcome from IL!!!

KYB is trash. get some eibach on there, or at least a set of 5100s. why buy a 4x4 if you never plan to wheel it?

    Pretty things
Some have a boat which may need to be dragged up a slippery boat ramp. Or just needing a truck in an area where there is snow depending upon season.

...I like to hit the trails "literally dozens" of times per year. But all others apply too.

    4x4 Trucks FTW!
