So the recommended gear break-in is done. I have a oil change to do, and another, because.
    4.88 / 275/70/17 (32.2-4?) Thing is quick. Zero economy. 3000rpm at 70MPH

    Happy belated @Tundra2 !

Weird. Are you sure they sent the right part? I'm working with Eric right now because Toyota had a bunch of parts mislabeled with the wrong number. He re-ordered twice, and is now reaching out to Toyota for an inventory check.

    Hell yeah, send audio clip.

I might've said this already, but that front end needs to come down an inch, maybe new springs? Or the rear needs to come up an inch. I think the latter may look better, the former may require rolling the fenders (you mentioned rolling fenders on something but I dunno what it was)

Fyi, 1st gens tend to accommodate 16” or 17” wheels, so I urge caution if you’re thinking of going larger. The offset isn’t just for clearing the body mount and exterior panels, but control arms, brakes calipers, what not.

I'll get a few clips next weekend.

Trans juice change helped, but not completely. It's still hard to get into 1st and 2nd, and if you wrap it out in 1st, it just straight up won't go into 2nd until it slows down. I'm afraid the clutch wasn't done right. It'll grind going into gears sometimes as well.

The part number on the bag matches the receipt and online. My gas tank filler neck has threads. The old gas cap has threads. The one they sent is a completely different design and just has two notches. Won't screw in or turn. Very odd.

I didn't realize how much shit I had in my shed.

    KIMG0198.jpg

I got it all cleaned out and added some shelves. I cleared out a corner to put in the 20 ton press. I don't have anyone to help me put it together so I figured me and the TX boys can assemble it. I think we're about ready for "save Ironman 2022" aka "panhandlemonium".

I figured I'd get the press Thursday after work, then start disassembly on the truck. We can put the press together on Friday. Or if I can do it by myself on Thursday I will.

It gets confusing. Before I corrected my speedo the bigger tires sent the speedo down, but the gears sent it up, so it would say I'm going 65 but I was really going 60. I curious what your real speed is, I don't know the 5 speed final ratio.

the nav apps are really good 1 would say +/- 1-2 MPH. Ill try it next time i'm on the freeway. I bet if I was 4.56 with these tires it would be fairly accurate. But I'm very happy with 4.88

Track your gas mileage a bit. It might not go as bad as expected. 3k rpm is where the torque reaches peak so it might be about as efficient as before.

Maybe test when gas drops below $6 a gallon haha.

I feel that. After mine broke in I was having a a hard time staying out of it. Every stop light was like a 0-60 test.
