Its all about tire size and wheel offset. Whether it be no flares, OEM narrow flares or wide pocket style flares, as long as the tire fills out the space under the flares proportionately. Skinnies and pocket flares are a no go. I'm running 35s with a -25 offset. I like the look and I think it gives the truck a more aggressive stance. 20211207_155944.jpg 20211124_131853.jpg

Original from dealer when I bought it on 2015, but had to several times adjust rubber trim as it kept coming off. One day I just decided to take them all off, waxed, polished and just kept them off. I did order replacement Bushwacker rubber trim put ..as you see in picture never made it back on

I'm waiting to see the OE style flares, in black, on a super white before I decide for sure.

If you live in the rust belt & plan on keeping your truck for a long time, then absolutely. Where do most trucks rust first, wheel wells.
This is one of the first things I put on my used Toyota’s after purchase. YMMV

Wow your truck was perfect and beautiful as it was, minus those shin killer running boards

Does not look nearly as good without the fender flares, but blue is still nice and my second favorite vehicle color.

If I couldn't get a white truck I would have gotten this color..
    Love it man!

    Thats my opinion.

Yea — I always think they look a lot like the Ram Rebel's flares too

Dont know if I've posted a full side shot in a while so here's a new one. FYI for those looking to maybe paint these, they do have a texture to them, similar to the textured ABS in the lower front bumper

For those that think flares prevent rusting wheelwells I suggest taking them off and looking underneath. After less than 10k miles a bunch of crap had accumulated under mine. The Tundra payload is so pitiful I took them off to shave 8 lbs of weight, lol.

    Here's where they reside now...

Looks good Zach, Did you add Xpel under the flares? Also do they attach like the bush wackers? Zach do these flares cover the 35’s pretty good from sticking out?

Big lift, large tires and wheel offset.....my lift was not high enough so took them off. They are being used by another member in the forum. Glad they worked out for him.

I am working on that, just did the grill black out, the tow mirrors are next then I will see if I want to do the emblems. I do one thing and then look at it for a while and see what stands out....right now that is those great big chrome mirrors...lol

I would like to have the appearance of flares but only by adding what is essentially a stripe a few inches around the wheel openings; done with the spray on bedliner stuff. Raptor I owned previously had the spray on bedliner look on flares, bumpers and along the body above the running boards. My Tundra's wheels are pretty much flush with the body and I think it'll look stupid if I have flares that extend out any.

Then again, it might look just as dumb with the "painted on" flares. Like a woman shaving off the eyebrows only to paint 'em back on??

I have low profile EAG flares, bought them from Ebay. They are about $200 now IIRC. Not sure if paint would hold up. They are lightly textured ABS resin in black.

Flares look best when you have a wheel/tire combo to fill the space. :)

Before, stock OR wheels with 33x12.50 Toyos. Paw Paw Truck.

After with Methods with 295/70r18 Wildpeaks. Cool, Manly Truck.

Completely depends on wheel poke imo.

When I pulled the spacers off, I pulled the flares off. Much better look to me.
