It’s awesome that he can function well enough to live on his own. It always makes me happy to see people like that be able to (and getting a chance to) be independent. They always seem to have a positive outlook on life that we often lose sight of with how the world is.

My wife’s first cousin’s oldest son just turned 30. He’s got severe Down syndrome - he’s never said more than a few words his entire life and he’s basically the mental state of a ~1-1/2 yr old. But he’s always ready to share a hug and smile from ear to ear.

He's amazing - they all are. He was on a Special Olympics bicycling team in our old town but I didn't like the way it was coached. I thought it should be more about having fun, so I talked to our local AMVETS group and they said they'd sponsor us if I started up a new team. I started it up, thinking we'd have two Olympians. The parents of the members of the other team found out and everybody left that team to join mine. We had so much fun and I'm pretty sure we swept the golds. If a Hero was competing, they won.

    IMG_0343.jpg

Our motto was "Trying is Winning" loosely based on my brother-in-law because if you ask him if he can do something, he'll say "I don't know but I'll try."

And I just realized I'm hijacking the thread. To sum it up, people like your wife's first cousins son, my brother-in-law and all the others are usually the best of all of us. The Special Olympians I've had on my teams are some of my most favorite people in this world.

I put the new power rack together. I just fits in my space. I'll have to be careful when I'm doing pull-ups or I'm going to put my head through the roof. Unfortunately, UPS bent some parts so hopefully I'll get some replacements soon. I still need to move it back a little and reorganize/optimize the workout space.

Not sure when we can get the rock and stucco done, so I also rolled on some Killz to seal things up for a few weeks.

Took two trips to pick up a total of 40 bags of top soil. I laid down 20 bags and realized I needed another 20.

Finally got everything prepped for final paint this weekend, not sure I like the new colors the wife picked out this time (4), but who am I to argue. She told me I would love it because she saw it on HGTV.

Hell yeah. Less shoveling of snow and hail.

I can’t get anyone to come here in the hail season anymore. Hasn’t really hail since the last time we had the Tundras BBQ years ago.

Thank you sir, its just a 3 bedroom split ranch, but doing Cathedral ceilings in the kitchen, family room, and master bedroom along with 5 skylights has made a world of difference in the way the space feels now. Still a work in progress, but the wife is happy.

You might be a welder and knew you would have a cut list but I appreciate the engineering paper and accuracy! Glad to see I’m not the only one that does this when I plan out projects. :D

Can't build anything without a cut list. :D I'm not a big fan of the "back of a napkin" type of plans, especially for bigger projects. Winging it just isn't my style.

I'm planning to take this down to a local hardware store and have them run it through their deck builder program. Should be able to get a 3D render, cut list, parts list and pricing really easily.

Sweet! Yeah I have access to Solidworks at work so there have been multiple projects that have been 3d modeled and/or 3d printed as well.

Anyone have experience (good or bad) with the solar panels for the Arlo Pro 2 cameras? I just ordered a 3 pack to give them a try, but reviews seem to be mixed. We get plenty of sunlight in AZ so that's not an issue. Just wondering if these will actually keep the batteries charged up so that I don't have to climb up and down the ladder all the time to charge them.

I ordered the iTodos Solar Panel for the Arlo Pro 2. 3 pack was only $119.99.

Picked up this gazebo from FB marketplace a few months back and finally had time to put it together over the weekend.
Altogether, it took about 4-5 hours from start to finish with 2 adults.

We did it once at a family gathering (my wife's family used to do a LOT of skits at family gatherings). It was tough.
    We also did this one:
Jingleheimer Junction - SNL - YouTube
And the Men in Tight's song from the Mel Brooks Robin Hood
    And Summer Lovin' from Grease
and my BIL and a couple others did the strip scene in The Full Monty.

Now just need to cut 6” holes for the LED lights and hook them up.

Next is stucco, stone, and granite countertops. I guess the wife wants a hot tub too. Ppppffftttt

Dirt work, forms, and rebar done for a 14' x 48' driveway extension. Concrete will be poured tomorrow. I had good grass in the area but now I can pull the boat out on concrete. Before and after.

I agree. I have a VarioCage DoubleMax that we purchased for our 2019 4Runner. It's a ($2000) crash-rated SUV dog crate that I'm trying to find a home for (sold the 4Runner to buy the new Tundra PRO). One of our local K9 'nosework' girls said if I listed in Facebook's Dog Kennel for Sale thread that she's sure it would sell quick. But, nooope!!!! I've never had and never will have a Facebook account.
