Seems like mine too is temperamental and most of the time doesn't load my profile. If I start and stop the truck a few times it eventually connects....but I have to figure this one out.

Anyone making progress figuring it out?

I think it is an issue with the Toyota phone App. I got rid of the app and all Toyota connect features by opting out. Now my phone connects via wireless CarPlay without a glitch every time.

I may give it another try in 6-12 months to see if they got the phone app issues figured out.

Really? Seriously, thanks for the input. The app is nice and all, but geez, it shouldn't conflict with CarPlay. The salesman had the one screen that had all of the app icons and for the life of me I can't get that screen to come up. Most everything is quite intuitive....but the user profile thing is baffling me.

I had an issue with my truck and they ended up replacing the whole radio. After they replaced it and reprogrammed the truck, the profile stuff went away. I don’t have to need with it any longer, which is nice

Did you link your key fob to your profile? And do you keep the spare fob in the truck?

My wife has the spare. The profiles aren’t there anymore. Before the radio was replaced, yes, it was linked. Now it’s like a normal vehicle

My sales guy did everything for me. I tried going in to see if it is linked and can't figure out how to get there....I know there is a video for doing that with Android but I think it is different for Apple.

I spoke to my sales guy today. He told me this. Take it for what it’s worth!

Dont set up your Toyota app in advance at all. He and another sales member spent time figuring out the new system as they have been starting to get a few delivered.

Has said to only create your profile when sitting in truck for the first time, and then set it up all at once. Don’t do any pre-loading or pre-setting up of your account & profile or VIN on the app. This seemed to be the trick for having no connectivity issues later. According to him.

I can’t confirm as mine isn’t in yet.

Had this issue but once I linked it to my key fob the issue went away.

What you describe is exactly what was done. I watched him download the app while sitting in the passenger seat.

    Definitely fickle.

There was an update to the phone app recently. Not sure how many issues it addressed. I've not had any, so....

He downloaded whichever version was current on Friday. Coincidently, I just sat in my truck for a while and it connected 5/5 times...which is the exact opposite of before. Maybe the Russians fixed it. :)

    Like this, thanks self

I sent photos of our FOB’s to Meso Customs to see if he will make a slim design replacement like he does for other Toyotas.

I will say my CarPlay connects but then while driving it will kick up an alert asking for a profile pin. If I just hit the CarPlay icon on the screen it goes away? The music keeps playing and everything, bizarre.
    Anybody have this issue?

I just got my new Tundra today and my salesman sat in the truck with me as we set up the app/profile. So far it has worked perfectly…fingers crossed it continues.

3wk update: My user profile connecting is a hit or miss thing. Today it just wouldn't connect. Even when I select refresh on my profile it tries but doesn't connect and reverts back to the guest profile. I'll blame it on the Russians for the moment.

Make sure everyone is linking the key to their profile... it seems to resolve most issues. You do it under the settings (not apple carplay side) and go to "personal info" and turn on the "link key to profile"

I will try this again. I think my screen is different and I didn't see this option the first time I looked. I will look again, thanks!

This is what I get when I go to personal info. I have to say that I am very reluctant to reset the system to factory defaults. I see no option to sync to fob

You aren't connected to a profile it looks like. You need to go through and set up a custom profile for yourself (not "guest" profile). Once you connect to that, you should see the option to link key.

Ahhh, ok. Yep, my profile didn't load that time. So you have to be connected to your profile.....which is ironic that my profile not loading is my problem I am trying to resolve. :)

Yeah the holy grail is connected to your profile, with the key you’re actually gonna use, and link to the key option flipped, on a Tuesday while crossing your toes…simple!

Mine works great now, but my toes hurt

I've not had any problems with the profile loading. I believe you just had to sync your keyfob with your profile and after that it worked perfectly.
