We are trying out some cool things over here, we need to start off by accessing our computer for tuning. The truck is a V6 Tundra 2012 with the 5 Speed, can anyone help us find the ECU ID? We need a stock file and in order to find that we need the ID

Dare I ask what kind of cool things? I know a stock map for the 5.7 is around not sure about the v6

Well down the line we want to explore a supercharger/pro charger. Thing is we have to start somewhere which would be a basic tune. At worst we have to do a standalone but I’d like to see if we can get the VF tuner to pan out

Trade your truck and the ~$5k you'll spend on a supercharger to get a truck with the 5.7 (I think even the 4.6 is still going to have roughly the same power as a 4.0 with a SC).

4.6 makes legitimately 40 more horsepower than this engine. The 4.0 is also amazing with maintenance compared the the 4.6. Also this is my first car so I won’t ever get rid of it, I rather put my own twist on it later on. It’s very easy to trade in for a 5.7 but it’s a completely different story to build a vehicle piece by piece. 4.0 with the SC will make more HP baseline than the 4.6 albeit it’s not a crazy difference. I am very interested in an overseas diesel swap, I think that would be the only other thing I’d consider later on. Right now I’m just a 20 year old building a community planning the build route, thank you for your comments i cant say I haven’t thought of it myself!

It's 74HP. (236 vs. 310). Magnuson doesn't quite get to 310 and is $6000. A $5000 Pro Charger would get you to 330 for a little less money, but they are not advertised as being setup for the Tundra. The big challenge will be dealing with intercooler mounting and piping, and paying a shop to do custom fab is going to drive the cost of something like this up closer to $10K, which would be a healthy down payment on a different truck.

Pro charger is more of an issue like you said, I’d prefer the supercharge because it’s more of a bolt on situation but yes you are right where this will most likely take custom work. That’s why I’m doing a lot of research ahead of time

You know your stuff, believe they put it in the 2014 as well, those are much rarer.

Yep, @dirtydeeds was brainstorming out loud a while back and basically conversation led to a supercharger can be put on this engine, accessory belt of course would need to be correct but if it bolts and and the accesory belt can be applied correctly then the only thing missing would be tuning. I’m kind of doing this backwards, I want to get into the tuning aspect early on. This is my first truck I’ve put many miles on it and taken very good care of it. I don’t plan on ever getting rid of it although it will see changes throughout the years. The only drivetrain modifications are a full catback exhaust, rear car delete, performance valve body from IPT trans. Other than that just suspension stuff.

Wouldn't it be the same tuning used on the 4Runners?

From what I understand it’s not copy and psre because the calibration/hardware is different in this truck
