I don't believe mine do a startup dance.?

I will have to confirm, but think mine only show-off when going from mainbeam on, to only city lights.

The Gen 2 startup is where the projectors light up one at a time when it starts and then they turn off. To me it seems like a wear and tear useless feature. We just put Gen 2's in the wife's 4Runner but the startup feature doesn't work.

What does irritate the crap out of me is the customer service. On the 4R, you can use the stock switch on the stalk to turn the DRLs off. On the Tundras, it does not work and their customer service is absolutely clueless on this.

Seems like the Hi-Revs are for 14's and up, not 12's...

Had mine on for almost a year and haven't had any issues with anything. My truck visits the car wash multiple times every week, and lives outside.

I assume the warranty would cover leaks along with any other failure.

Both myself and Lol_mpg have 2nd gen tundras (07-13), and I don't believe morimoto produces a projector headlight for this range of years.

When turning my headlights off, the DRLs (white) will turn off with the mainbeam, then activate the amber sequential signal (both sides), then reactivates the white DRLs.

The sequential "hazard" blink is the dance I refer to

    Projector dance sounds even cooler!

Perhaps he means the GEN 2 Morimoto lights themselves...

So what does your startup "dance" entail?

Trying to figure all the little differences in production runs. All of the newer ones have an orange reflector, whereas mine have clear reflectors with an orange LED bulb behind them... replacenent would prove annoying if I ever had issues with one.

Do they still use the "chameleon paint" for the black surrounds? I love the iridescent, rainbow reflections as you catch different angles.

You have different headlights than us 2nd Gen guys. You have what is referred to as a 2.5 Gen.

Just trying to see if someone who has my same headlight, from the same platform, is programed a little differently from what I Installed about a year ago.

I think the only difference in the Morimotos for the 07-13 is the DRL color choice of white or amber during purchase. The 14 and up XB's are projectors so the Gen 2 on those has the startup animation.

    Edit...I had the XB's when I had my 2013.

Yes. This is my understanding as well.

@MPG_LOL mentioned some kind of startup sequence on his 2012. I am wondering what this looks like as mine don't do a startup dance. Just a headlights on, to headlights off dance.

Yeah I'm thinking it's just a quick DRL on/off sort of like a power switch transfer.

That's it exactly, I tested it out last night and it seems it only occurs during DRL on during daytime startup.

On another note, for the Sequoia TRD Pro grill I ordered, where can someone get those grill lights? I suppose I am going to need amber. TIA

My Morimoto's on my 13 are doing fine. No water and no condensation. You may be thinking about another brand. I have not heard anyone say their Morimotos got water in them.

For a 07 - 13 a popular tail light choice is the Alpharex. A lot of people have this tail light. There is a thread on it.

Little fitment issue that bothers some guys. Seems they are just slightly smaller than the oem lights. So there is a small gap around the top.
My truck is black so it is not as noticeable. But they LOOK A LOT BETTER THAN THE STOCK LIGHTS. Night and day difference.

One of my housings is cracked anyways so I need to replace... Was gonna say I'm going to wait for Morimoto to come out with a pair, but doesn't seem like that is ever gonna happen unfortunately... Any issues with hyperflashing when using turn signals with Morimoto LED's in front?

Yes if you hook up for sequential flash on turn signals you will get hyperflash.
My "electrician" buddy who is 70 would not read the directions "because they were not a computer". And he would not print them out "because that will use up my all of the ink in my printer". So he hooked them up and missed the section on sequential turn. But he does a meticulous job and it was free.
So I did not need the resistor I bought. I will wire it correctly during Spring Break. Then I will need the resistor and I will have sequential turn signals.
Now I print everything out before I go to his house for any assistance.

Question for those with these installed. I installed a set of the XB's into my stock 2013 RW last week and the other day I realized I hadn't tried my high beams since installing them, so I flipped on the high beams and there was no change in light output. Has anyone else run into this? Since it's both lights I feel like it's something in my truck, high beams worked fine before installing the XB's. I also noticed that if I push the high beam lever forward I don't get the indicator on the dash but if I pull the lever back, like to flash, I do get the indicator (but no difference in light output).

    Hmm. Somethings amiss.

The highbeams put out ridiculous light.

I'm not a "brights" kinda guy, but I feel compelled to actiave them when in the sticks... just because they are quite impressive... you should notice the difference

Make sure the high beam connectors are installed property. You should notice a difference in light output when the high beams are on.

As the others have said, there should be a extremely noticeable difference when using the high beams. Either the install was done incorrectly or the lights are faulty. If both lights are not working with the high beams its likely an install issue, one heck of a coincidence that you would get two units shipped together that had faulty high beams.

This was my thought as well, but at the same time, hard to believe I could have plugged in the connectors on both lights wrong. I'm going to check all of the fuses first, then I'll pull the lights and verify all connectors are fully seated.

Anyone happen to know if you can install the Morimoto XB LED headlights (2nd Gen) without the Non-DRL Conversion relay for the 14-20 Toyota Tundra? I have just got my fog lights in and now want to tackle my new headlights but the relay kit is running a few days behind. I'd think this would be fine, you just would not have function of the DRL's until that arrives.

    Can anyone confirm?

The DRL's are also the turn signals but I don't know if they would operate or not without the fuse tap being plugged in.

The turn signal will still work without the DRLs.

For some weird reason, I had the DRL fuse blow yesterday. Drove for hours with no DRL. Don't know why it blew or what caused it.

Do any discount codes work or are there potential sales in the near future? I’m in the market for my ‘new to me’ 2013 CM.
