Looking to order KO2s off tire rack, and it gave me a warning about the load range of my truck being E and those tires are D, should I still buy them? Will they be fine on my truck?

Any truck tire is plenty of load be it C, D, or E. They come from the factory with P-rated car tires.

Tundras do not need E, E is overkill and it will ride like shit. E rated tires are for 1 ton trucks. I would get C.

    So I shouldn’t get ko2s?

They are fine. You won’t find more than one or two options for C load tires that work with the factory setup.

I’ve been on E rated for the last 40k miles. If I could find C or D rated in a tire I liked I’d run them but it’s not an option.

Great tires. What size are you looking for? They make KO2s in a lot of different sizes and load ratings. SL, C, D, E.... I would shop around more. Tire rack doesn't always have the best selection. Honestly, check ebay, 4wheelparts, etc. too.

    https://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/auto/tires/all-terrain-t-a-ko2#sizes

Also check out Falken Wildpeak AT3w. 95% as grippy as KO2s, last a lot longer, and are quieter in my experience. I have had both.

Not need to apologize - forum exists for people to ask questions. Only additional thing I think worth mentioning is while the KO2 has a solid reputation, lots of people have found them hard to get and keep balanced. Plenty of threads/posts on here discussing that issue.

What tires would you recommend? I want something I can do some off roading in but mostly paved roads and good traction in snow. Been searching since I bought this thing and just can’t seem to figure it out.

Paging @ColoradoTJ @GODZILLA @Black Wolf @Outbound @Cpl_Punishment For opinions from people that deal with the white stuff. I can’t offer opinions on tires for use in the snow but I think neither KO2 or what I run, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, would be ideal. You’ll want something with a snowflake rating.

I actually bought some Hankook DynaPro AT2's for my Frontier. Load range C. Smaller truck and my old back can't handle changing out an E, and an E tire , any E tire will suck in snow IMHO. My Hankooks do quite well in snow actually, but not so good on packed icy snow. The Canucks here like and use Hakkapeliitta's which are a true snow tire but soft rubber compound to only be used in winter months. My GY DuraTrac's that I had on my 09 Taco were pretty darn good. Once again.... softer rubber compound so don't expect super high mileage for much more than a true winter tire. This is a hard question to reply to. Wild peaks are popular here but I'd take the DuraTrac's over them all day every day when doing a lot of mixed/ snow driving. I put some really hard mileage on them going up to AK in all kinds of crappy assed conditions up there. Not bad in the occasional mud situations I got into either. Nothing crazy. Let's let our Canuck friend's chime in ....

I run a 285/65/18 Duratrac they come in a load range D. Daily driver at almost 200 miles a day rain and snow they do me good. Also give me peace of mind over a load range C tire while towing our travel trailer. I will probably buy them again next time I’m due.

D is overkill, you'll never be 12000lbs in a tundra.

I just put Toyo AT 3 on mine. They are on the upper side of the money scale but so far I am happy with them. My runner up was the Goodyear Duratrac. I have them on both of my FJ's and they ROCK in snow and rain but sometimes seem a little noisy. Toyo came in SL and they are more than enough load rating for the Tundra. Plus they are light which helps with acceleration, braking and MPG if you care about any of that.

C load is actually less weight rated that SL......

Very happy my 275/60/20 SL rated Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT | Discount Tire
SL rated in this size with an all-terrain look.

Ride much smoother than my D rated 275/60/20 KO2s and they ran smoother than my stock D rated 285/55/20 KOs.
Both the KOs and KO2s got created more noise as they wore down.

If I wouldn't have bought the Goodyears, I would have bought D rated Cooper AT3 XLTs.
Glad the DT sales guy talked me out of it..

For snow I’ve used Duratracs, KO2, Grabber ATX, Cooper AT3, Toyo M55, and Hankook ATM.

I like Duratracs a lot. I would also consider Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT, Cooper Rigged Trek, Falken WP T3, Toyo Open Country AT3, and Maxxis Razr AT.

The Grabber ATX and the KO2 are really similar and both good tires. The Maxxis intrigues me a lot as does the Rugged Trek.

Just went through my first winter with duratracs that have the snowflake rating and they did pretty good. Do not get nitto ridge grapplers for snow. They were awful.

That's a generic statement that I disagree with (riding like shit).

I use Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure with Kevlar, E, 123S, LT275/65 R18. 60k mile warranty to boot.

    https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/goodyear-wrangler-all-terrain-adventure-with-kevlar

95% of my miles are highway. The ride is awesome. And I can go anywhere and do anything (that my truck will fit!!).

Still getting 15.7 mpg with 400lbs of armor, myself, my wife, and 3 kids.

That's a good statement. However, those tires look like a car tire rather than an AT. So I can understand why they wouldn't ride like shit... haha

Yup, KO2s are only readily available in ten-ply E rated for some sizes. You will be fine. I have plenty of miles on my truck with e-rated KO2s, and it's a lighter truck than yours.

Yes, I stated that, but thanks anyway..
Point was, the KO2s in the same size were D rated.
Sorry that wasn't clear enough for you.

The Director of Financial Affairs and myself are running Nokian Tyres. I have the Nokian Rotiiva AT on my Tundra and have not had any traction issues here in Ohio with the snow.
Been on the truck for about 2 years now and the wear is pretty good and pretty quiet as well. I don't do any off-roading so not sure how they would hold up in that regards.
