    In person, these wheels are awesome I like them a lot. But I did not realize the effect it would have on the tire so I might have to swap them out.

    I also noticed that the wheels are really light I guess they must be aluminum versus steel? The original 20 inch that I took off the truck are extremely heavy compared to these

    I think it looks good to me. After the same look. Soon as my lift and SCS wheels get on with 285/70/18’s I will have the same poke.

    I looked at buying SCS but could not find inventory. Why did you go with 285 vs 275?

    Tire sizing is as follows
    The 1st number is width in mm. Say 275
    The 2nd is the percentage of 1st # and equals the sidewall height. Say 70
    3rd number is rim diameter. Say 18
    The manufacturer will release specs, based off of measurements from a determined nominal rim width. Say oem is 18x8 .

    So a 275/70/18 tire is...
    275mm = 10.8" wide.
    275 X 70% = 192.5mm of sidewall height X 2 = 385mm
    18in = 457mm
    457 + 385 = 842mm
    842mm = 33.1" tall
    275mm = 10.8" wide on a 18X8" rim.
    What I'm saying is if you want taller and thinner. Go to a 275/75/18 for a 34" tall tire or 275/80/18 for a 35" but still remaining 10.8" wide. A.K.A. "The pizza cutter."

    By going to a wider wheel than what the tire specs were measured on then the height will be reduced as the width will increase... but only slightly.

    Wheel offset has nothing to do with the size of the tire but rather the distance of the wheel centerline, inwards with less poke (positive offset) or poke outwards (negative offset) of the wheel hub..
    OEM is +60

    BTW truck looks good as is!

    Thanks for posting this. I had hoped to go more pizza cutter but this look is growing on me. The 275's are riding pretty well so far. I didn't want anything too big or gnarly, no rubbing, no cutting, etc.
    I did remove the front mudflaps and it's been just fine since then.

    Adding the Fox shocks gave me more room at all four corners. i'm starting to like it. I didn't really think about it at first but the tire itself must have given at lease some lift too b/c the 275 at least an inch or so bigger than stock, maybe a bit more.

    I chose 285 over 295 because of weight. I don’t think there is much difference. Instead of selling my 285’s I think I will run them and it will give me time to decide if I want to add 35 12x50’s. Running 285’s my gas mileage 17.3 the other day. That was driving it sensible. Lol.

    looks fine to me.
    personally, i don't mind a little pokey poke so long as the mudflaps can still keep the extra bit that hangs out from painting mud all over the doors and mirrors when you turn.

    I ended up going 275/65/20 for a 34" X 11" on a +18 20X9 wheel. Gives a little poke, and a little height, but no rubbing and still better mpg than a 35" or a fatter tire.

    You could add some fender flares to reduce that minimal poke....

    I'm in the minority I guess. I've got 18x9 +25 with stock size winter tires and that's too much poke, as evidenced by all the salt and sh*t on the doors when I drive through nasty winter roads!

    My rocker panels are going to be sandblasted clean of all paint if I keep these...

    i lasted 1 drive with brand new +20 wheels before i was convinced that driving without mudflaps is for the birds. depending on your tire size i managed to get creative with the cutting so i have no scrubbing anywhere and have 4 flaps again.

    Exactly, i’m in Georgia so I don’t get the salt on the roads but I’ve noticed even after two weeks of driving it throws everything all over the place. No problem for sunny days but even the smallest amount of moisture or whatever on the road and it’s everywhere

    True.. I thought about it but I feel like I would have to go with even bigger tires to even out the way the flares look. I know they’re great for some people but not my cup of tea if I can avoid it

    This pic was sent to me so I could see the lift with 285’s. It has the coachbuilder lift and the tire size still looks awesome from the side pic that I have and also has the SCS wheels on it. Mine is LunaRock.

    Navi, Are you possibly thinking of adding thin fender flares that don’t come out to far. I think they only look good depending on the size tire and where the fender flare come out. It’s almost like both combinations need to look just write.

    Totally agree w/your comments. i'm not seriously considering add flares. i have thought about it but like you said, both the tire and flare would have to look juuusst right. i'd like to avoid flares if at all possible

    These are the Cooper AT3 XLT in 275/70/18 on SCS Ray 10s +25. I thought they would be more flush with the wheel well, but there's really no way to get more flush unless you go with a narrower, taller tire. Then you need a lift and mine only has a leveling kit. Either way, I've gotten used to it and really like the look now.

    Ok, so pretty much same thing i'm dealing with. your stance looks almost identical to my situation.

    do you have side profile pics of the SCS Ray's??

    It’s the Rays more aggressive off set. Even if you go with a skinny tire I think you will still get poke.
