For anyone wondering about picking up the OEM console safe…

I purchased off local dealer and installed myself. Very easy install. I’m happy with it.

does the safe take up all the space or is there a little room left over ? does the door of the safe open up the same direction as the console ? does the safe have room for just one personal protection or two ? will a full size 9 fit or only micro ?

-It does not take up all the space, but a good portion of it. There's still usable room.
-The door hinge is on passenger side, so it opens away from the driver.
-The safe has plenty of room for multiple whatever you want to put in it, as long as you don't mind them being on top of each other.
-Full size anything should fit with ease.....I stand corrected, see below follow up

**I can post pics of it holding firearm if that's allowed on this forum. I'm a member of a few forums and the others are weird, can't mention knives, guns etc and God forbid they see a picture.

Ok, here's some pics...if you carry a 44 mag with 6 inch barrel as your everyday, it's not gonna fit, lol. The pics show Sig p320 with light by itself and with a P365.

I like the magnet idea inside the safe, I'll copy that.

Depending on how you want to pad the inside of the safe, I would say you could fit multiple pieces in there no problem. The door is also hinged with a light spring, which is a nice touch.

I think I'm going to spring for this when I pick up my truck. Definitely would be nice to have secure storage for stuff like binos and knives that I want to leave in the truck.

I used Chicago screws to secure the magnets.
Trimmed them down with a Dremel wheel to size.

I put one on the left side and keep a spare LCP mag and my lug nut lock key sockets.

I have a console safe that my rig came with. I have no urgent plans to use it and will let it go for the right price ($250 + shipping?)

not sure this soliciting is allowed either?? Please remove in not!

I'm in the area and interested, but don't want to pile up accessories for something I don't have yet. I'll message you after I get my truck to see if you still have it and want to sell.

    Awesome info guys..!
I ordered the safe as well, for all of the reasons and picks above.

Question - where did you get the magnets?

I’m still waiting on the Lock’er Down safe to come out.

I had one in my Tacoma and it was very nice.

I had one in my Tacoma as well. I didn’t like that it took up the whole console. I see why it did since the console was so small. Consolevault may have one. I may get their half safe for my 19’.

So I purchased one off Amazon for $150. Some YouTubers recommended it. I decided to return it the day received. The lock was awful. The flimsiest thing. Someone with a screw driver could have broken it open. Also a lot of play in the door. I liked everything else: half the console was the safe, the other had the tray. I was about to pull the trigger on the consolevault half safe until I found this on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/4039710859...tdaagnNRE-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY There are many vendors selling it. Seems to be the one I ordered off of Amazon with an upgraded lock, led lights etc. I really want to give it a try. Another part of me says it’s still junk and to just get the consolevault. Although the consolevault does not have the tray organizer on the other side. Any thoughts out there? Thanks!

I purchased a used safe. Unfortunately it doesn’t have the mounting screws nor spacers. Is there a part number for the mounting kit? If not, does anyone know what I need to get? Any help would be great.

I would just get same size screw that holds your console down but longer and washers. Play around with a few different lengths and go easy. Mine did not come with spacer or require them. What safe did you get?

I got the OEM safe but it didn’t have spacers or screws. I read the installation instructions and the had the specs for the spacers and screws. I just can’t seem to find the spacers they speak of. I will take your advice and just go to the hardware store an pick up a few different sizes to try. Thanks.

I know there have been two different versions of the “OEM” both are half safes. But one has a tray and bolts in 4 spots. I posted earlier about the one I got off eBay. So far it’s been great. Comes with pads for the bottom. I lined it with stick on foam liner.
