Spent the last three hours cleaning up the files in my personal laptop, and am now trying to access serra parts on this 10 YO slow POS. Using mobile hotspot on my phone to fly under the radar, but this ole gal won't pick up the 5Ghz band emitted from the phone. Awful slow.

Hate to enter my CC info on the company pewter.

Bummer, when I ordered the Solo motorsports LCAs, I asked how long. They said they were going to powder-coat next day. I said so like 2 weeks? No, way before that. That was a couple of weeks ago. Called again - at powder-coat...oof.

Anybody know off hand how many bolt grommets for the valve covers total? Can't seem to find that info.

[IMG]Gaskets for the mr2 engine are in. Time to pull the engine apart and get pistons ordered

this engine is a running engine. So I will not be honing or anything. These new higher compression pistons will drop in and be fine.. it’s how we do the re rings on the 2.4. These low tension rings don’t have issues wearing into old bores as long as they’re still in good shape. Which I don’t doubt these are

I don’t check in often enough to have known that you were getting these, but I am super pleased. For years I’ve been wanting these to be an option, and I’ll be excited to know how you like them. I’m hoping you will post pictures of these next to one of the OEM.

Speaking of Solo, I found a for sale ad with Hulk's rowdy cousin. It's got a 2wd Solo LT kit with Dana hubs and its back-halfed.

    I bought 18 of Toyota p/n 9008010330

It's supposedly the same bolt with the integrated seal for 1/3 or less the cost of just washer and integrated seal

The p/n tracks back to basically all the 4.7L Land Cruiser, 4R, and Sequoia during our year trucks, which all should have 2UZ I think? It's what I found the specialty websites were using in their kits.

If I don't get mine done today, install is happening tomorrow so I'll get a proper comparison. I couldn't figure out why there was such a huge difference in buying the two pieces (bolt + washer) separately is like 5x as much when you can get them together like this for a little over a buck or two each.

That’s pretty funny: even the cut outs in the front skid are similar.

Haha! This one is a lot better than the Great Value Hulk I saw, which was a sun beaten stock imperial jade mica except for fiberglass fenders. Thing looked goofy but I forgot to save a pic unfortunately.

This is awesome. They have me on a Kawasaki Eliminator which sounds ominous. I wrongly assumed we would be in the classroom all day but they had us riding within around 90 minutes.

I also thought the clutch would be more difficult to master but it's not been that bad.

It was pretty weird getting accustomed to hand clutch (and even hand shift) after spending much of my younger years riding non-clutch shifted ATVs. Maybe you're lucky and you haven't ridden anything motorized w/handlebars yet. My 1st truck at 15 was 4 on the floor, so the general concepts made sense, adapting motor skills while ignoring muscle memory was weird.

I found similar difficulty transitioning to snowboarding after spending half my life on skateboards with a big chunk of teen years surfing. They're generally similar forms of transportation, but require different motor skills to achieve the goal. It's cool, I can do it all now, but If I had a choice, I'd always fall back to the path I found easiest, which was skateboarding, or foot shifting w/o a clutch.

Newer bikes have gear indicators, but mine dont, so i have to keep count in the back of my mind. And i still constantly try to find a 6th gear, even though there hasnt been one the thousands of times ive tried. Knowing which gear to be in for which corner will come over time. 90% of my low speed braking is done with the rear, and panic stopping is best avoided. If you can go around, do that. Not only can you stop much faster than the phone poker behind you, locking the front wheel is not fun.

Doing some work yo my wifes Honda today.

    Rotated tires, easy.
Drained oil, easy (will refill after some other things)
    Buffing headlights, easy.
Replacing vtec solenoid, a bit of fiddling with horribly placed wire connectors and working blind but not bad.
Replacing the little $4 screen on the front of the head that works with the vtec... what the hell Honda? I gotta pull the belt, pull the motor mount, and pull the power steering pump to get to this little thing? And whats with all these little screens? Can't they engineer an inline filter on an external hose to make this an easier maintenance?

    This little thing
    20220319_121031.jpg

    Hides in here
    20220319_121040.jpg

After all this I'm gonna wash it and give it a good general cleaning. Then do the same to my truck. I haven't washed my truck in 6 months, its starting to look like that file cabinet tan color.

Ah. I'd posted over in the for sale forum that I've got a couple of mid-2015 MacBooks, i7 quad core and i7 dual core, that are in pretty fabulous shape. Not everyone likes Mac though. I just setup a pretty damn solid i7 Latitude for an older friends' friend who is going into assisted living, but I've got one more similar to it I could cough up if you were hunting.
