Mike check with kevin k to see what he has for his spare. they have thier RTT down real low also. strapping in the bed with a cover or low rtt is problematic with using the bed. one of the things I am contemplating as to whether or not I actually do go 37's. never want to be without a spare, even for just around town as your DD.

I carry a plug kit, OBA and inflation tools everyday in the cab, and AAA if things get to sideways.

Load the spare on anything outside of town and of course every excursion.

The weight of the spares is best carried at the front of the bed. BUT, if you need to change a tire on the trail, unloading other gear to reach it would suck. Carry it nearer the tailgate.

Intuitively close to the cab makes sense, that's how I ran mine for a long time. But IIRC, after a shock tuning session Roy came back and said as far back as possible is best. Of course it may be different for different setups, Roy is linked. I've got the 3" SU setup and recently moved my tires all the way back to the tailgate and it feels like the weight is distributed better, could be just my imagination too. But, a lot of 2&2.5 gen LT tundras seem to run the tires near the tailgate. The race trucks run 'em at the back too, that might be for quick tire changes but I think they'd do it differently if it had a significant negative effect on handling.

@KevinK runs his spare in the bed under the rtt but has a bed slide for access.
Next time you talk to him ask him about the old rake technique to access things in the bed.:D

Just picked up a set of black OEM front fenders courtesy of @vipgs3

Now to plan where and how to cut them for some extra tire clearance (and if it’s even doable lol)

    (Yesterday)
Leave for work in the AM, all is good.
Arrive home from work in the early PM and this.

Absolutely no idea how it happened. Screen is intact, so it wasn’t our dog, Moose. No rocks or odd foreign objects in the broken glass on the ground. Genuinely no idea how this window mysteriously shattered. Now to figure out how to get a replacement. Oh joy!
I reached out to the manufacturer yesterday to ask for the part number, price and lead time. Hopefully it’s not too expensive.

That really sucks! Probably not what happened to you, but a friend broke a window on their trailer by putting their slide out at their house. Window hit the corner of their roof and shattered.

No strange footprints which does make big bird a likely culprit.

Oh no! That’s such a drag.

Good thinking! I’ll grab a glass shard tonight and bring it with me tomorrow. “I need dis, but biggerer and window shape. Thanks” lol.
But really, I’ll give them a shot. From what I’ve read the manufacturer won’t sell just the glass, it’ll be the full unit since it’s a frameless window. But perhaps I can remove the old glass and glue on a replacement. Worth a shot if the direct replacement is overly expensive or king lead time. Thankfully no rain in the forecast!
