I keep these in my center console tray and never touch my screen. Always use a cleaner sprayed on a micro fiber cloth for screen cleaning just like your glasses.

So it does appear that there is a factory installed screen protector already present.

I noticed scratches the same day I picked my truck up and thought it was screwed already. Upon closer inspection, there is a factory protector on there, so I am just going to leave that until it is completely wasted.

the film installed at the factory is just a temporary sheet of protection, i installed pro tech screen cover on day one and never looked back, zero scratches and zero glare, lots of cheaper options on Amazon as well.

I got the anti glare. And the cluster I planned on throwing out because I don’t have the digital display cluster on my truck. However the glass is same size, so I installed it, I forget that is on there it make a very big difference in how clear it is and kinda repels dust. So happy with it.

ordered same product for wife’s hunk of junk 22 Jeep Wrangler, fingerprints on her screen were out of control

I've got the 14" screen and every couple of days I give it a quick wipe down with a dry microfiber. No scratches as far as I can tell. I did buy a screen protector but haven't put it on yet.

I ordered a screen protech kit but after I placed an order the shop doing my PPF offered to put Xpel on my 14" screen and cluster. I get the truck back on Monday and I'll update when I can.

I do have experience with the screen protech kit on my Tacoma and while it was pricey it was well worth it. Screen clarity improved and it hid some minor scratches on the odometer plastic.

have this and love it. The matte finish is great for not showing fingerprints. Also really like the instrument panel protector.

This is my first vehicle with a digital instrument panel cluster and large plastic screen. After one cleaning I instantly purchased a protector. Too much dust and dirt collects there to not scratch the shit out of it. I am surprised this is not glass or crystal.

Which protector did you use for the gauge? I really wish the plastic was at least glass for the money we all spent lol

for this screen protech stuff, it looks kinda hazy from that install video, but it super hard to tell.

it is take away any of the resolution, brightness or touch sensitivity ?

Im second guessing buying the Amazon one now

matte finish messes with the contrast ratios if you like poppy colors and sharp images a gloss protector would better serve you but both have pros and cons I have always liked gloss screens but under the sun it's not fun lol kinda like the hood reflection problem.

ya ok thanks, I like full resolution, etc so maybe Ill just stick with the Amazon one and try it for the <40 bucks.

I know what you mean by matte finish, it kinda slightly hazes the image a bit at times,

    thanks for the feedback

No haziness, loss of clarity, or responsiveness. The touch screen looks more clear to me thanks to the lack of fingerprints and glare.

The instrument panel cover is not matte. It is standard gloss so, once it had a day to settle, you would never know its there. For the first day it had a few streaks that I think were left behind from my pre-cleaning of the panel prior to install. They disappeared within a day or so.

I got the Screen Protech in High Def. installed on the 14" and the cluster. Looks awesome and no noticeable loss in screen sensitivity.

always clean any screen or with a glass cleaner and a white cotton "T" shirt so you don't scratch the screen

I was impressed with the fit and finish. Somehow I managed to get mine installed without a single air bubble as well. Read the instructions and just take your time. I spent maybe 5 minutes in all, prep and install. 100% happy with the results.

This is wild. I work for Toyota. Whenever we sell a tundra we peel a big screen protector off for the customer before delivery.... That one's easily visible and obvious. So they double layer these trucks during shipping. My screen has been so scratched up. And I come on here and realize there was another one that I had no way of seeing.

    google up “screen protech”

a lot of Tacoma owners use their stuff for their screens.
