Less than 300 miles on her. They had to use a tractor to get her out. The road was washed out from a bad storm. It was so muddy I couldn’t even turn. We got super lucky. Minimal damage and scrapes.

I don’t have pics but back in the day I had a buddy with a Blazer that had a 14” lift and 44” gumbo tires. Down in the Louisiana marshes he buried it down to the bumpers. Took 3 days of hand digging to get it out.

Here is one from 2000. I didn't see the drain before rolling forward. Luckily there was ZERO damage. It took four of us to get it out by lifting the front and reversing the truck. haha

My buddy got stuck in the mud solo wheeling, was in a canyon in the desert and the rain was due in the AM (flash flood warning).
He hiked ~4-5 miles to the road to get reception, woke me up, and my buddy and I hit the road. Found him napping in a ditch while he waited for us
Got to the truck. Mud was so soft and deep you’d sink to your thigh trying to walk through it. Entry was narrow, soft and angled. Had to winch from further away, with nearly full line extension, snatch block, and two extensions. Oh and an anchor truck.
We eventually got him back far enough, then he had to winch himself forward to get to a dry patch so he could turn around and make it out.
Was a very long night! A ton of fun too though, recoveries are a good time :fistbump:

I did not take a pic when I stuck it. I could not open the driver side door. In 4hi I could just go back and forth about 75'. I put it in 4lo hit the diff lock, the throttle and it climbed right out of the hole. If I was in the Tundra with no diff lock I would not have gotten out.

We didn’t do mud. So hard on a vehicle. But I’ve gotten stuck upside down before. Was a perfect t100 when I started.

    I think I have a few pictures.

This truck (before I renounced my GM ways or the trans shit the bed, you decide) was 2WD and had 10-ply highway tires that were E-rated. This happened a couple different times hot-rodding around camp.

    Stuck.jpg

Got stuck in my own backyard before.

Views from outside a stuck truck. This was a fun recovery overall though, and no the 22RE didn't pull me out.

    20211022_163231.jpg

This next one will stick with me for awhile. I didn't get stuck this time, but this is the aftermath of a person I came across that was incredibly lucky. It was about 105 degrees in the Joshua Tree desert, a place with no cell service that can be very desolate at times. I only came across them because I wanted to pull off the road and find a secluded spot to stop and eat lunch (I was already familiar with this road and what conditions to expect). I was not expecting to see a single person on this trail in that heat. These people were lucky that 1. someone actually came across them and stopped, 2. the person that did was prepared.

At the start of the road, there is a sign that says do not proceed without 4WD and plenty of water. These people didn't have 4WD and only had limited water. If they had tried to make a couple of miles to the highway by foot, they would have likely started to suffer from heat stroke/ dehydration. If they got to the highway, they'd then have to wait along the scorching asphalt and be lucky enough where someone stops.

The vehicle was a 2WD Blazer on street tires, absolutely buried to it's rear axle and sitting on the gas tank. The blazer did not have a tow hitch or a good spot on the frame to hook onto! I determined the easiest way for it to come out the way was the way it went in, and the only place I could tie a soft shackle to was their rear sway bar. It took a lot of digging to clear out underneath from the blazer, but my truck popped it out easily with the help of some plywood and a kinetic rope. Most importantly it didn't rip off the rear sway bar or axle. Drug them back to the highway for good measure and they were on their way.

This is a different kind of stuck, but it follows the same theme of desert flash floods in
@eccracer104 's post. A few years back, we were at the Colorado River and a bad thunderstorm came in. The wash next to our camp started to flow, then water tore the road up opposite to the wash leaving us no way out. There was a solid 8 hours we were stuck on an "island" with rising water. When the storm subsided, we had to stack rocks and make a detour where the road washed out.

Truck was unable to continue forward momentum due to “stuck” cylinders after trying to inhale water. water was a little higher than we’d normally seen it. This was the deepest part in three counties. Found it.

This is my most memorable stuck:DB06D94B-2944-406A-8C24-D8ADAEE1ACB3.jpg
Luckily, I had a first class pit crew that rebuilt it right there on the trail (@papasmurf cannibalized seat bolts from all the other trucks on the run to replace the ones that sheered off to cause this LBJ failure). Then I drove it home from Sedona to San Diego.

This ^ is the only “stuck” pic I keep in my phone. It always makes me think of the meme dog, Phteven:
