It's also a 2-way remote so if the alarm is triggered the remote goes off. I have the GPS smart start module that connects to the viper app so I can see the location of the truck at all times and control the alarm functions from my phone

I have the viper also. Works well. Same one on it since 2008 so can’t complain here.

Yeah, took about 5 hours if I remember correctly, although I wanted all the wiring super tidy and it took me a sec to get the programming how I wanted it.

As a consumer (and ex-BestBuy employee lol) that uses Compustar, I'd say Compustar. I can remote start my vehicle from my phone and track its location. I also have a alarm system from them that was installed and it notifies me when there's been a glass break and if the trucks been tampered via motion. Viper is good too! I don't have a lot of experience as far as viper but both will practically do the same and I'm sure there is a mobile version to use for unlimited remote start range.

Viper is defiantly the way to go, had it on the Taco for 6 years and when I got my tundra at the end last year I had my buddy put the same one on it! Worth the money all day!!!!
