Oh man you are right I totally forgot about that $7K repair with truck out of commission for a month…..was it the cam towers or the teenage texter that rear ended me without insurance…..can’t remember.

I have found CR to be the most inaccurate of all car review magazines and websites, complete trash.

…and it does not end with cars. The inaccuracy applies to other products as well rated by CR.

Literary sarcasm :( Perhaps getting back on track with original intent of this thread and let those people who actually have 22 Tundra's with Turbo issues post?

This becomes a value-added exchange of information vs. a first grade school exercise.

likely everyone’s whining about the turbos is going to be short lived through manufacturing of an improved part. Here’s an idea, if you’re worried about the turbos don’t buy the 22 Tundra. Much like I never bought a Gen 2 because the crap gas mileage, lack of active safety equipment, ugly body style, and leaking can tower. Didn’t whine all over Gen 2 forums about it. Just moved on. For those dealing with the turbo repair, yep it sucks and should not have happened. Let Toyota do the factory repair and move on.

I really think some of you are frustrated you paid 40k to 60k for a truck that is out of style, lacks safety equipment, lacks new tech, gets poor gas mileage, and has leaky cam towers. Enjoy your V8, bigger back seat, and reliability over the Gen3.

I said 'Not really' because your original post corrected my 'with issues' wording, as if I meant it 100% literally. Not even buying a Yugo guaranteed someone would definitely have issues with their vehicle. :)

Nah I would rather have a 2nd gen. It's a truck. I just want a RELIABLE truck that is 4x4, but I can get by with 4x2 and a beater instead. If I care about speed or looks, I have 2 camaros for that. I also only paid 32000 for my 2020 LOL right before covid hit, so it makes me even happier to drive now that it's paid off.

Honestly, this right here (behind reliability) is 99% of the reason I'm good with my 2.5 Gen. :fistbump:

So because we express serious concern after a large number powertrain failures under 2K miles we are “whining” or “jealous”?

Explain to me which group really cares about the future of the Tundra?

Every powerplant the brand has put out in my almost 3 decades with em has had it's teething issues. Catch is most all of em were before the internet was stuffed full of opinions about the matters. Every era of Tundra is included as well. 4.7's with exhaust leaks, piston slap, throttle body failures. 5.7's with cam towers, chain tensioners, fuel pumps, power steering racks and now the baby of the bunch with hiroshima hairdryer issues and who knows what next. This too shall pass. I'm actively looking for a 2020 to add to my 2000 and 2022 so I can have full reign to complain about all of em but still not trade any of em for anything else.

Exactly and now at 1700 Miles on my 12/7 build date without issues. If it happens, no doubt Toyota will repair.

Believe the characterization of Whining or Jealous is your affirmation for advertising the issues with the 2022 Tundra's.
There is no doubt you are concerned but is that because you own a new Tundra or have plans to buy one? What is the motivation for you?

The nuts that hold the hub to the axle tube. Look at the 6:02 and 6:36 minute mark for the best view.

Wow, thanks for the time stamps!
Man, I almost wonder if the factory completely forgot to install the nuts, or if all the nuts were loose and backed off.

Man, that's domestic truck eff-up right there!

God seeing all these subscription or wifi things with new cars and appliances.. makes me feel really bad for the next generation. How can they make money from such mundane things.... like washing clothes or doing dishes.

I was looking for a new stove earlier... NEEDS WIFI APP TO OPERATE... if that is the case, soon it will require a subscription to work.. so I don't want it.

I already have a speedqueen washer, so need to worry about that... but my samsung dryer? Yeah it will get replaced with either maytag commercial or speedqueen. I want dumb appliances.

I agree subscriptions are ridiculous but what is this stove that you speak of that requires WIFI only to operate? Are you saying that you have no devices that requires wifi (laptop, tablets, cellphones, TVs, etc.)?

I have a plethora of devices that require WIFI, but once subscription based crap start on them, I drop them and find a dumb device because the feature I was using ends up being the feature they require for subscription.
For the stove it was a GE monogram newest model.

One example of this are Wyze cams, they used to be great but now require cam plus to be able to see video motion detection which used to be a feature that was free.
