Oh I know. What came to mind with winch was trail ride from my mods to my tacoma for off-road capability. I was being sarcastic with the comment of full size crawler.

I know. You opened the door to let me have some fun. I was trying to find some examples of rear winch uses and came across a couple of dorky pics. Not really sure how the F150 got thrashed, but crazier things have happened on a logging landing. Actually maybe not. Heh heh. The last photo is real. It's a 1950ish or earlier pulp tanker. How weird is that! I like how the winch is hidden in the Expedition one. Would look good on Tat's Pro. Probably could get it customized

I'm going to definitely look into that. I was thinking to get a small Honda generator for camping, unfortunately I need a bipap machine to sleep at night. If the solar could generate enough power, that might be a quiet option.

The Ex 1 is the one I was looking at, or at least the one I liked the most. I'm not 100% on a winch yet, more a luxury item for me.

One thing about the Powerfim is that it can't store a charge. Instant DC when sunlight hits it. I guess best for charging and running things during daytime up to 120 Watts. You may still have to opt for a quiet generator and keep it far enough away so as not to be a bother and/or some kind of sound deadening/ breathable enclosure for it.

They should sound pretty decent with those super long Thorleys. Are you going to need to re-tune or will ECM adjust?

I inquired about a tune or adding the Bullydog/Hypertech/etc... and it didn't sound like it was necessary? yet? I'm going to try and do some sounds bites of before and after to compare.

So I've had them in about a month now... The first thing that really stood out was a high pitched whine that comes and goes. Annoying at first, but I'm okay with it now. My son really likes it. Kind of like an airplane sound as it gains while starting takeoff. (Exaggerated, not that loud) This CAI really sucks the air though! The growl of the exhaust is quite a bite more, which is cool. Increased power is noticed more on the highway. As far as gas mileage?? For me it's lower cuz I'm always on the gas, lol. I think after my next mod (headers), the 2 coupled together should be pretty impressive on the performance side? we'll see.

First set of Dynos before the headers go on. Not to bad for just a CAI mod and Throttle body spacer so far. I was amazed at the top speed of 132.7mph, achieved by removing the ABS fuse. I've decided I'm going to get the Bully Dog also and get this machine running at peak performance.

332 hp and 357lbft - what happened to the advertised 381/401 figures? Are those flywheel numbers?

Those I guess are numbers directly front the engine... My exact thoughts... Numbers advertised from Toyota are unrealistic to back tires...

I was looking at AFE CAI #'s testing numbers and they are similar to what I have... What Toyota advertises as 381 HP isn't really what we see in actual HP... which is why I wanted to test before and afters. It's difficult to know unless you actually test it. So hopefully most of us with the same engine, 5.7 FFV, should be the same numbers... By adding the Bully Dog after intakes, I should be able to fine tune it a little bit. Test results to follow soon.

I miss my manual tranny that I had in my Tacoma. I prefer me controlling shift point. It will be interesting to see dyno results after tune.

Does Toyota offer a lot of Manual vehicles, in the truck variety?
I'm hoping with that Bully Dog and my tech that we can change those shift points... A lot cheaper than doing a shift kit and potentially causing other problems.

I don't think they offer the manual for Tundras anymore. I may be wrong.
