Could these electrical issues be connected?

So my 2007 Toyota is just getting warmed up. I have about 170k miles on it. In the last year I have been having intermittent electrical issues.

Sometimes the cruise control doesn't work.

    Sometimes the Truck doesn't start.

    The key fob's stopped working.

I have been trouble shooting them as separate issues but now think they might be related.

The key fob I could not resolve after changing the battery in the fob or by doing the key fob reprogram procedure as found on the internet. (I could never get the truck to signal it was in program mode.)

I haven't really done any thing to trouble shoot the cruise control.

The not starting thing is getting to be an issue. If the truck has been sitting for about 30-90 minutes this will happen: You put the key in the ignition. Turn the key to ACC and the radio comes on and the fan blows strong. You turn to ON and nothing additional comes on. The dash doesn't light up for example. You turn to start and the radio goes out for a moment but nothing else happens. I changed the starter relay and that didn't seem to fix it. I usually have to pop the hood and whack the starter relay and then it will start.

    Any ideas?

Check the build link in my signature.
Both of these are solid bets. Neither is fun to chase down…

I have my occasional moments. Ha! Come to think of it......the cabin air filter would be good to check too! Could be a clue.

Ya, I already did this. I got some contact clearer and blasted out the sockets after it did it again. I am wondering if the relay socket is bad.

For the hard start, I just fixed this on my truck. Get 2 of the blue 4 prong fuel pump style relays. Replace the fp cv vsv relay and replace your fuel pump with a new one under the hood. Fuel pressure control valve, super important, this is the reason the fuel won’t stay in the line and creeps back after it sits. Takes longer and longer to turn over as the relay fades out. Maybe you need buy some other relays while you are at it. But I assure you the hard/cold start is that fp cv relay. Good luck.

Ok, an update. It's something BEFORE the starter relay. The problem has, for better or worse, gone from intermittent to permanent (now it won't start). I put a meter on the starter relay socket and there was not voltage across the coil when the key was put to start. I also hear a quiet relay cycling sounds from around the Fuse/relay box. I am looking at wiring diagrams now.

Is the Battery terminals clean and snug? Also how does the ground from battery to body look? Does the battery have all of its volts and amps?

The battery and ground is good. If I tap the start relay contacts together the engine turns over. I am going to look at the wiring diagrams. I think the ECM is not getting power. Might be one of the junctions or the P/N position switch.
