Hey everyone, can anyone assist me or answer me this…I have a 2012 Toyota Tundra and sometimes, forgetful me forgets to turn my headlights off, I notice before completely walking away from the vehicle, but the alert or beep doesn’t seem to be working, alerting me that my headlights are still on? Is there a setting or is something broke/not working? Thank you for all the input

    Do you have auto headlights?
If so they go off on their own, or after a 2nd push of the lock button on your fob.

If not, then you might have an issue, maybe using Techstream can help, or the dealer.

No automatic lights, do have daytime running parking lights (the amber ones), otherwise, it’s all manual.

A few... Definitely more than 2
By default they should turn off 30 seconds after you lock the doors. That is what mine do and I also do not have auto headlights. I also am not familiar with any headlight beep or alert of any kind that is supposed to go off so I'm not any help there.

I do believe I get a chime if I have the lights set to "on" but I almost always have mine on "auto"

APalmTree might be on to something there, but my truck is a 1794 with all the options so it's a bit different.

Hmm, I guess I’ll have to try that, thanks.

    Pretty things
They should turn themselves off as stated.

I don't have auto headlights and leave either the headlights or city/parking lights (with my foglight mod) "on" all the time. The courtesy lights can be canceled with a second press of the lock button on the key fob.

If you change the lighting switch to anything other than off, AFTER shutting off the truck, that lighting mode will stay on probably until the battery dies. Your lights will also stay on if you say, leave the truck running, exit, and shut truck off thru the passenger (or any non-driver) door.

Basically, the lights will turn themselves off unless you do some weird shit.

Now I DO have to watch that damn cargo light button when cleaning the interior. I've left that light on several times, and I hear the housing will melt if you don't catch it in time!
