    Tastefully enhanced...
It's a factory Cold Air Intake...you could remove the Charcoal filter for some whistlin' and more intake noise and one can also get a different filter to aide in noise too...not much gains from aftermarket systems...if anything, more heat and less filtering...Id spend dollars on some Long Tube headers if you want to feel more "umph" and stay NA...or Supercharge it and smile more...

Don’t take it personal. It’s just this truck has been out for a very long time so this question has been asked a bazillion times on here. Some of us just need to remember we were all noobs at one point

I agree! What is wrong with this guy?? Who doesn’t spend 40 hrs at the dealership looking over every square inch of the vehicle, inspect every bolt, crawl under to look at everything, open the hood and digest every piece that makes it function?? I mean besides me..I like to be confident in my purchase and then rely on the expertise of others to help me with my questions without being greeted by some snarky ass-clown.

Welcome to the circus. It's a great truck and we look forward to seeing your mods

For what it's worth, next you should start a thread asking how to improve MPG.

Fake news, never been addressed! Should start a floor mat or under-seat storage thread. In all seriousness, the search function on this site is a little wonky, takes some practice to figure out how to use it properly.

No good sire. We drive bottomless here on Tundras.

Add heated seats for the chewed bubble gum look.

You skimmed the surface but forgot the most important parts.

Every time I buy a vehicle I dip my finger in the fluid and give it a sniff, then get a taste. I make sure the seller is watching when I do it too, let's them know I'm not their average consumer. 99% of their sales tactics become defenseless when they see this maneuver. Imagine them trying to sell undercoating to a man who just licked power steering fluid like it was cookie dough, they know I won't buy it. Then I start breaking into the hard questions like "Whats the lift and duration on these intake cams? Is the crank forged? Are we taling I beam or H beam rods? Where's the driver side Oh Shit handle gone? Is the wiper fluid PITA approved? Let me have a complimentary cup of coffee, is it free trade? Black, no sugar please."

Before we even start the test drive they know I'm in control, and when we see railroad crossings we must get airborne. That's to test the suspension for emergency evasion readiness. If it can't fly. I CAN'T BUY.

I'm not bluffing. When I bought my truck we hit the tracks going 50. Front end stayed planted but the rear bucked like a donkey. We survived so I bought it.

@fisherman951 knows the ones, on Jefferson Avenue before the smoothed it out. Right in view of the Toyota dealer hot dog stand.

I am curious, where might this charcoal filter be located? Is it something that needs to be cleaned or replaced as part of regular maintenance?

It's in the air intake filter top lid...it's used to reduce/eliminate the smell of fuel coming thru the engine into the cabin area.. I've never had it happen so I removed it...once out tho, it cannot go back in...

Ahh, thank you. So I'm surmising that there's no reason to worry about it and removing it really has no benefits..

Correct...it makes more intake "sucking" noise when removed...no true benefits on performance.
