Everything I have read online (FB groups, many) is there are some with anywhere from 5k-200k. Only maintenance done is windshield wiper fluid and tires. Pre-2021(?) you needed to replace the 12v battery (powers the electronics) every 3 years. Mine is a 2018, and I couldn’t find a date on it so I paid $117 for a Tesla tech to come out and do it. That included labor, and install. He also replaced a couple of charging ports under recall (?) while he was out. I love how they have mobile service. They can also remotely log into your vehicle to troubleshoot
Many say brakes last a lifetime due to regen braking.
fitment issues: it’s a hit and miss. If you do find it, upon taking delivery of your vehicle you’re covered under warranty anyway. Tesla has a fantastic factory warranty compared to other manufacturers, and better than your standard 5/60.
    https://www.tesla.com/support/vehicle-warranty

Should you want an extended warranty, you can see those options as well.

the constant OTA (over the air) updates are awesome. Its truly my favorite car, yet.

If you get it, you can also add updates that you want, such as accelerator boost- I can be purchased right to your app. This will drop your 0-60 time by about a second or so. I presume it’s the same cost as the M3 accelerator boost- $2K. How long will it take to install? About 2 mins or so pending your signal strength. Now, take that to an ICE vehicle and you’re at least $5k into it, and tons of downtime to get it installed / tuned lol

Add on Homelink ($300?) my garage automatically opens as I pull up, and closes as I depart lol.

Tesla is apparently setup to run 500k on their batteries, or more. I’ve seen some with 2-300k on them; however when they are that old some won’t take certain fun updates

Feel free to shoot me a text on any questions. I’ll PM u my cell

any chance you can talk her into an X Plaid? :burnrubber:

couldn't agree more. But the construction industry is a bit behind that sort of thinking - everything is still pretty "local" based usually.

This particular project is sharing resources with Israel though, so they should be farther along than they are...

I was going to suggest a Taco but I know a lot of folks hate the engine in the third gen and Adam doesn't buy used. I'm also not sure if they ever offered a DCLB with the manual. If they didn't, I'd be looking for an ACLB V6 5 or 6 speed manual (if I was in that particular situation; wouldn't work for me personally).

One more thing, I see the Y is made in TX, Germany and China. I would hope we don't see and China built cars here and they are just for their domestic markets?

I do like that but I have to be able to put car seats in the back if needed. Not in a position to have 3 cars yet unfortunately. :(

Chine and Germany have their own. They also get certain things we don’t, and vice versa. Some updates apply to only China, and some updates apply to only US. It’s odd lol

I was just taking a look at the Hyundai N line. God, those cars got ugly.

Can't go wrong with a Corolla or a Civic. Friend of mine just sold his XTerra and got a 2018 Civic. Way better fuel economy and still fits his family of 5 with 3 car seats across the back.

Finally. Replaced the carburetor on my Troybilt pressure washer. I am too lazy to go get fresh fuel for it as I didn’t use stabilizer in current fuel (wish is what I believe caused it to have an issue) and don’t want to dick with it again over fresh fuel

I’ll let you know for sure when I head down that way! Their website says they are out of stock so I’m going to give them a call this week and see if I can get on a wait list.

Correct. I wish I had my brother's luck with used. I'd go that route, but I've never bought a used car and not regretted it. I pick the winners.

As for the Taco, the 6 speed stick would be a must to manage the lower power, and here in the states it is only available on the double cab short (5') bed. The major issue is that Toyotas are being price gouged. A TRD Pro Taco should be within a thousand bucks of the Frontier Pro 4X, but it's not. Its several thousand more, and I don't think I could get that good a trade value on my Tundra. If I am replacing the Tundra it has to be a straight trade, or one that reduces what I owe. My budget is whatever they'll give me for my Tundra.

    Lunch? That's just a snack.

Similar to my thought process when I looked at a Taco. I'd have to go DCLB for practicality, which is automatic only here and it's the same price and gets pretty much the same fuel economy as a Tundra.

Yup. In 2019, when I was shopping for something that could handle the snow better than my little Renegade, I was aiming at midsize trucks or SUVs. The Taco, Colorado ZR2, and the Ranger were all within a couple thousand dollars of a full size truck, so I couldn't do it. Same for the 4Runner that was in the running. Didn't get much better MPG than the Tundra and wasn't any cheaper either.

The current market has shifted this a bit, but only for the Frontier, as far as I can see. It's the only one that I can get well equipped for my Tundra's trade value. Might be able to get into a Ranger, but why would I take a turbo 4 banger that isn't any better on HP, torque, or MPGS than the NA V6 from a more reliable brand? They'd have to cut me a hell of a deal.

I saw that. She always does entertaining reviews though I wish she would have used x-mode 2 with a healthy amount of throttle, I believe the results would have been better.

Her reviews are entertaining. I love the nerdy, dorky aspect and how it's intentionally awkward at times. Doesn't hurt that she's pretty and doesn't have a nasal whiny voice. First video of hers I saw was actually for the Frontier Pro 2WD model. Wouldn't watch it with any young boys children around though. She almost had a wardrobe malfunction in the backseat portion of the review. Comments were full of confused 12 year olds.
