Tundra Engine Light On Code P2441

I started my truck up today to move it to clean it and noticed the check engine light came on . Went and got my laptop and checked the code . P2441 Secondary Air Injection valve stuck close . Seen that people have bypassed it . My question is should I replace the valves ? What parts would I need to replace ? Or should I bypass them ? Also anyone that has bypassed it noticed any differences ?

 

I don't think you can bypass after the issue sets, I believe you have to bypass before before any issues occur. IIRC, then, you'll have to fix it first and bypass after. For your sake, I hope memory serves me incorrectly.

 

Call Hewitt tech, buy the bypass they suggest.

Install bypass then disconnect your battery cables for 30 mins. This will clear the codes. Hook the cables back up and start your truck. You're fixed.

 

Replacing the valve(s) is quite labor intensive and/or expensive to have done.
The valve(s) is not needed, the kit bypasses it electronically and mechanically at the manifold. Much cheaper than replacement.

The best part is you do not have to replace the failed SAIS components, that is what we are Bypassing. That said, are Bypass Kits require the Pressure Sensor, Factory Wiring Harness and ECM to all be in good working condition.
