Nothing , sorry misread, thought talking about lines, and my rims are 10" wide, no problem with 12.5s.

I hear what you're sayin but, I don't think they make many 17s with the 5x150 pattern that don't actually work??

Probably true, but I thought the offset qualified as an "issue" with 17s, that was worth mentioning. From that thread I linked it looks like there are several wheel models that have a more normal offset that work.

    I also dumped a 2019 for a 2017.

TundraDude34 on YouTube said in one of his videos that 2017 was the quintessential year. I started looking at the packages by years and agreed.

If I was looking at one with aftermarket suspension, which ones are best for a softer highway ride?

I have no experience owning anything other than my 21, but did drive a buddies 09, back when it was brand new. I got that utilitarian feel in both driving experiences, something I desperately desire. I recently owned a 2019 ZR2 and 2020 AT4... and boy, did that lend perspective. Rolling shitboxes, both of them. They looked dope, but inspired nothing but fear of long term ownership.

All I know is that I've never been happier. I rode horses for a bit on special duty in the Army, and found it can be true what they say about finding that special mount. That's the way I feel about my Tundra, it feels like there is a connection that goes deeper than science can explain.

Had I known about the missing trans cooler I MIGHT have looked for a 17 instead of the 19 I got. That being said, I leveled my 19 and the radar cruise, collision, etc still works fine. Got too good of a deal on the 19 to pass it up.

Get some custom valved 2.5" Kings from Accutune. Unless you don't want to spend that kind of money...

I don't really know, haven't personally buttmetered them all. Totally stock with P rated tires is probably the plushest ride. There's more to it than just shocks. Spring rates, tires and general wear and tear of components can have a huge impact on ride quality. It all depends what you plan to do with the truck. I like King Fox and ADS shocks 'cause they can be owner serviced. Some specialty tools are required. Just had a friend over last week to rebuild his Kings. Those 3 can also be easily re-valved either by a shop or at home to change ride characteristics.

I talked to a guy that had a 2010. Zero issues for over 10 years. Score one for the 2010's.

I bought a 2010 Tundra back in 2009 and traded that one in for a 2018 and never had one issue with it, ever. It had 92,xxx miles on it and needed the first brake job. Obviously never used hard but did pull toy haulers we rented a few times

According to this, 2007 was the worst year based on engine problems/complaints. The years to buy were 2009, 2013, and 2015 when it comes to best reviews, the fewest number of TSBs, and an overall number of reported complications. The article is dated Dec 2019.

It has the small gas tank. The 38 gal. came out in late '15 or early '16. I don't think there are many issues with the '14 'cause it's basically, beside the body, the same as a 2nd gen.

I guess there's new software features that show up in the later years like Toyota Safety Sense and CarPlay/Android compatibility. The nice thing is, it's not a real new generation...same exact truck underneath (drivetrain, frame, etc), so you're not going to see redesign issues that typically accompany a brand new platform.

    >16 mpg with 35s and a stand up camper. Just gotta learn to drive like an old lady (minus the poor judgement and reaction time). Living at altitude helps, too.

    2017 SR5 but I may be biased.. :D

Wanted the big tank, key ignition, big boy DOHC V8, a half-ton that is capable of towing/hauling and minimal electronics. Hell, I don't even want ABS but I have a Miata for that.

Didn't want blind spot beepers that tell me there is a car 50ft behind, my face hitting the wheel when someone ahead is slowing down, cruise control that slows down for you as if passing is not a thing, etc. Our 2020 CX-5 has all that garbage. Wife loves it, I turn it all off.

Oh I almost forgot, I wanted that sweet gas mileage! AVG 15.5 in rural MN! Will probably drop to <13 when I get back to DFW.

I turn that stuff off when I drive my wife's car but I have to remember to turn it back on afterwards because she apparently can't even stay in her own lane without help.
