You need both front and back and it bolts up to the TRD Skid.

I installed front cat plate last year n it still looks new . recently I got a RCI engine plate, gift from a friend. my question is should I reuse the existing bolt or the ones come with RCI? should I order a nut plate?

If I were you I'd get the nut plate. You will use the bolts from the front cat plate but replace the nuts on top. It will make it a lot easier tightening it up.

My RCI is installed with the hardware that came with it. My 2020 didn't come with a factory skid. I did not need a nut plate. I was able to reach in to tighten everything.

Yeah it’s easier to tighten with the right tools. (Ratcheting wrench).

I'm trying to figure out how the "nut plate" works. Does anyone have a picture? I fought with my RCI engine skid plate, tying into the Valhalla plates, and was not successful.

Think of a plate that goes across the top of the cross member, that has nuts for the bolts welded to it. It's a hell of a lot easier to hold that in place than a single nut as you're putting the bolt thru. Once you get each bolt started you really don't have to hold it anymore.

You want a front plate and a rear plate for max protection.

Makes things easier but not necessary imo if u dont have a big front engine plate like the TRD/RCI.

Does anyone have a pics of the nut plate?
You don't need the angled washers with the plate, right?

@adamreinhardt needs one of those angled washers.
    Wouldn't this plate omit those?
Or does someone have an old angled washer they could send him?

And for context, I picked up a TRD skid plate with a partial hardware kit. Hers a pic of what I have, wondering what I need. If that plate replaces something and makes install/removal easier, I’ll look at that for sure

Keep in mind I could be wrong about all of this.
But I think the nut plate omits the angled washers.

These are the protectors for the Pentagon bolts. they have smaller sizes if you are not using the Pentagon bolts and are using smaller bolts. The issue is they have been out of stock for some time...

@Dany have you or do you know if anyone has confirmed the Pentagon socket fits in the rock hard washer inset? They state the inset is 1.1" which is real close to the Pentagon socket OD.

I got a response to my email from Rock Hard 4x4 this morning.

Shipping won't be $5, the minimum FedEx and UPS charges is closer to $11.

    That's is nice customer service.
I have no problem paying $11..

    I ordered them today.

$30.10 for shipping and handling for 6 washers?
    Fu(k that.
They can stick them in a padded envelope and send them 1st class mail for $5..

Welcome to the world of inflation and shipping cost due to high cost of fuel. Not much we can do about it.

I think they must use some kind of price-based shipping cost calculation.
I really like the product, I sent them an email about it.
There is no reason 6 ounces of product should cost $30 to ship unless they are shipping it overnight.
That is price gouging, despite the current fuel costs.
Hopefully, they will get back to me about it..

    Working on it!
It's probably shipping and handling...freight costs + box + void fill + tape + labor. It's a gripe of mine they don't call it what it really entails.
