Well, I’m way off. I was thinking bob mons (upside down) which is @mons.bob and that’s some funky drink or store called monster boba on insta from what I looked up.

You saw what state it was in, right? Obviously you've never lived there.

If you knew a fraction of the shit I saw living in that state, you'd think I was a fantasy writer.

I thought you were suggesting Snow Boob. Which may also be correct.

Hope that thing has an added turbo or an LS swap. Couldn't imagine what it would be like up a mountain pass otherwise.

That truck is only regeared. They have an option for the SC, but it's not on that truck. They did tune it though.

That thing is sweet, but looks tippy.

The affluent c*ck bags are ruining the everyman hobbies of fishing, hunting, and camping because it has become trendy. Look at the new campers, RVs, and tents that are ridiculously priced. A single axle, compact, teardrop, outdoor "kitchen", two person camper is running $30K+ and readily breaches the $40K mark. https://escapod.us/trailers/topo-2/ They are taking "less is more" to an idiot extreme and people are paying a premium for it.

Same thing for things like hunting. Used to be in times past you could ask a rancher if you could hunt their land and all they wanted was for you to not make a mess, close gates, and a bit of meat if you harvested an animal. Now? Oh, that's gonna cost you hundreds of dollars, or even a thousand, a day just for access. Why? Because some rich guy that only eats meat with a pod cast decided that he wants to hunt and he has phuck you money, so it's no big deal. Doesn't hurt him, his buddies, or those like him, but local hunters are screwed. Why would a rancher let you shoot an animal in his hay field as a service when he can pay for his new truck letting people with more money than sense do it?

Back on topic, that Taco is badass, but it sure as hell isn't worth the price of a house. Even in todays gouged market for trucks you can get a Taco for say $50K and then it's a new axel, gears, tune, suspension, and the components of a camper... That math isn't adding up to a mortgage in my mind, but then again "overlanding" is just a hipster, man bun, granola muncher term for car camping.

I grew up with my grandparents having an rv, making reservations to stay in campgrounds and having all the amenities from home brought with us.

When i camp now, i want nothing to do with any of that. All my necessary electricals are 12v, running water is optional, and i wont pay to be 15ft from some jackoff that runs a generator or ac all night.

How you going to ask $325k for a $50k vehicle and not already have EVERY SINGLE option available installed?
Let's just play pretend for a moment.

You are the kind of glamper that's in the market for a $325k tacoma so you walk into the $325k tacoma dealership/boutique in search of a $325k tacoma.
You stroll casually up to this hog with your $500 designer jeans, $200 flannel, your Rolex, and your no-credit-limit Amex. You don't know anything about trucks or really anything except being a douche, so you ask some questions you read in the FB overlandingbro group you're in. The concierge-level salesperson answers your questions with all the fluency of someone who's memorized the pamphlet and sticker, but also really knows nothing about trucks/cars whilst plying you with a steady stream of soft red from a local vineyard. As the sales-specialist is working his way through the pamphlet, he gets to the engine and mentions it's the HO 4.0 that's been tuned to optimize offroad capability and to match up with the new 5.29 gears. You ask about power-adders and the salesman advises you can get a supercharger FOR AN ADDITIONAL COST.

All the wealthy cats I know would laugh and walk at this point.
Who buys a Bentley without heated seats or steering wheel? No one. I understand the business is trying to make money, but I can't imagine a tune and 5.29s are enough to offset the incredible weight of that rig.

I agree, but you have to remember, that douchey crowd also wants to be able to one up each other. By having options they can point out the poors among themselves. Also, if you're spending $300K plus on a Taco-camper who is really gonna give a shit about another $5k-$10K for a super charger? Daddy's paying for it anyway.

Anyone got any tips on loosening off the 4wd front actuator cover, it's held on by three phillips head bolts, I've dropped the rack and tried impact screwdriver but they aren't coming out. I have applied pb blaster to the screws over the past week, but can't use heat as it's plastic.

Well holy shit. Yesterday it was 65 and sunny. I thought there was no way snow was going to stick overnight. I wake up today and this is the most accumulation we've had since 2015. I have almost 7" on my porch. They said we would get 2-3" which usually means 1" or less.

We got just enough of that fluffy white bullshit for it to melt and then freeze into a patch of sadness right in the middle of the windshield of my truck that's been parked for a week...and then drove today.

There's a beer tour in San Diego that uses a Swedish or Swiss (I get them confused) military truck like that. You ride in the back and drink from an ice chest while you go from brewery to brewery. Drinks at brewery are covered. Photos suggest I had a great time but I hardly remember.
