In less than 2 weeks, managed to get the following done:

    1. Ceramic tint on the front windows to match the rear

    2. Tow mirrors installed

    3. Rear TRD sway bar added

    4. Bilstein 5100's on the front on the middle setting. Love the way it sits now

    Future plans include:
    1. Ceramic coating on the paint

    2. Dirty Deeds exhaust, most likely 10"

    3. 33" tires and possibly new wheels when these are ready to be replaced

    4. Something with the rear tail lights. I like what Toyota did with the front, would like to find something for the rear to compliment them

    5. New step bars. The Toyota ones are too narrow. Probably go with 5 inch step bars similar to what I had on my last Tundra

Definitely LOVE the Barcelona Red the more I look at it. At first I wasn't 100% sure, but the more I look at it, the more I love it! All in all, happy with how everything is turning out so far!

Nice truck and quick work. I’m still working on mine since I bought it in 2016 but the Tundra has to share mod time with my 1st gen Tacoma rock crawler and KLR. The bike is almost done but the trucks still have more to go.

Thanks for the info, didn't know they were having a sale! I'll get mine ordered in a few weeks, trying to spread out everything else a little. Wanted to get the basics done first, now on to the other stuff.

Beautiful truck and I totally agree about your comments on the Barcelona Red. I am the same way, the more I look at the more I like!

I too have 5100s but all the way around. Mine are on the top setting on the front running a 33” wheel/tire. Thinking about switching to the SCS Ray10s at some point as the previous owner installed these Fuel Crush with Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Here is my truck after a bath last weekend.

Looks great and nice job getting your work done!

I have to say I don't get why people go with the huge dumbo ear tow mirrors.
I think they look ridiculous on our small trucks and add another huge blind spot.

Do they REALLY help you that much when towing?
I was taught to use my mirrors effectively and have never felt the need for bigger ones, but I rarely ever tow so maybe I'm biased lol.

    Thanks everyone.

As far as the tow mirrors, yes they do help. I generally have a trailer or travel trailer hooked to my truck probably 80% of the time. With having both large flat mirrors in addition to the lower convex mirrors, does provi2a larger field of vision, particularly when changing lanes on dual lane roads. I'm also used to driving fire engines with the same type mirrors and am very used to using them. The blind spot looking past the passenger side mirror doesn't bother me.

    diggin' those mirrors a lot.!!

I assume they light up for turn signals and running lights??

How hard were they to hook up?

The mirrors were easy plug and play. You need a phillips screwdriver, 10 mm socket and a trim removal tool is ideal, but I used a flat head screwdriver. It does act as running lights as well as progressive turn signals. When the turn signal goes on, it starts closest to the window and lights up to the outside. I'm very happy with them. I'll post a link later when I get a chance. One thing to note, for some reason, BSM is not working. I don't generally use it so it doesn't bother me, but I haven't looked into why yet.

So finally got around to my next upgrade. Ordered Hi Rev Sports tail lights for the Tundra. They were actually pretty reasonable since the only way i could get the clear was to order an open box item. Much to my surprise, the box may have been open but they were still wrapped in the protective film, so still brand new. Installation was a breeze and only took about 20 minutes and i love the new look!

    Nice job!

I've been debating installing tow mirrors on my 1794. My travel trailer isn't super wide (92" I think) so the standard mirrors work pretty well going down the road, though I wouldn't mind a little bit better vision back there. More so, I am wondering if they would help when backing up, as mine get pretty quickly obscured as soon as I start to turn.

Finally replaced the OEM step bars with some larger ones. The new ones are 5 inch oval compared with the 3 inch OEM. Once I started to replace them, Toyota could have done a much better job considering what they charge for theirs! First, the steps bars are open on either end whcih allows moisture and dirt to collect inside, not ideal for longevity. But the next part really bothered me. The Toyota mounting brackets are much thinner steel, and are welded together at the transition from the frame to the step bar. The new brackets are much heavier and are a single piece. Much stronger and better for the long haul. Not an overly expensive upgrade, they were $229 on sale, but should last a whole lot longer.

Tow mirrors for a truck that tows 80% of the time? Shocking!!! Say it isn’t so.

The members that don’t tow anything wouldn’t know why this is such a good and necessary upgrade. Nice build on your truck!

Plan on doing anything with the transmission cooler or at least monitor temperatures?

Mine are on the middle setting. Made it level without having to do anything to the rear. I didn't necessarily want to go up as much as get rid of the rake. I did 3/1 leveling kits on my last 2, this time, just the 5100s in the front. Will still allow me to run 33s without any other modifications.

Heck, I like mine even when I'm not towing. When I have them set correctly, I can see two lanes over.
