    Well shit.

An 6 speed ls430 may be falling into my lap… now I need a 4.6 tundra transmission. We may have the first 6 speed auto fgt swap happening 2023 (I ain’t got time for it this year)

How does this make the swap possible VS a full 1UR 4.6 swap? Is the 3UZ computer more compatible with the FGT? And the 6speed auto from the 4.6 will mate to the 4.3 and the computers will play nice? Interested in this swap for sure. Can’t imagine the 4.3 is tuned for truck duty though.

Yup. I was all geared up to swap out valve cover gaskets this weekend, finally. Looks like I'll be doing more shop purging and cleaning this weekend instead, probably installing a new garage door opener. I refuse to freeze my ass off for 1-2 hours wrenching. I'm too old for that shit.

Around here, bikini season is less enjoyable than other parts of the country...

They say everything's bigger in TX, but we've got some wildlife roaming the wallyworlds around here that will give them a run for their money.

We’ve got a grassy knoll that I’ve dubbed “hamburger hill” last year it was on fire! The memo barely got sent out this year….

The 4.6 is physically massive. The 4.3 is a UZ. The 4.3 ecm can be tuned to run the vvti 4.7 just like stock. 4.3 actually made more power and torque than the 4.7 too. We’ll see how it goes.

No. This is an a760. The 4.6 tundras had a 4x4 version that was all the same ratios as the 05-06 a750. But with an extra overdrive

What is the expected RPM drop at 70mph with the extra OD? (assume stock wheels/tires to eliminate variables)

With my 33” tires at 80mph and 4.88 gears 2400rpm. You’d need to run hotter gears stock that sucker would barely be above idle lol

Mind you this is all calulates off the ratios in the trans and diff. It doesn’t account for everything and may be a few hundred rpm off

    Exciting!

How would the gear selector work? 6th is just overdrive so you either have OD on and 5th/6th available or off and its 4 speed?
