I've seen 2 on the road yet out of the 5 dealers within a couple hours of here they have yet to have one hit the lot that isn't sold already. I want to be able to look at and drive one but I can't find one to make it happen

My local dealer purchased a SR5 with options for their dealer rig. They have lifted it and added larger tires and plan to wrap it with their branding. I have driven it a couple times now.

I've seen a few of them around the metro. Not sure how many have been shipped. Going on a month of waiting for my allocation.

Placed a deposit back in November on a build for a SR5 with just 4 options/packages (TRD ORP, Premium Audio, Adv Off-Road Tech package, Heated wheel) in Army Green - been talking with the dealer on and off over the last few months to see if there's been any movement on an allocation, and they most recently said yesterday that Toyota is having a paint shortage for Army Green and Wind Chill Pearl. Out of the 60+ Tundras they have allocated and with some kind of build status, they only have 1 Army Green and 1 Wind Chill Pearl on the way. Has anyone else experienced this or heard something similar? Wondering if I should test the water with another dealer? I feel like the dealer I'm working with is pretty large and reputable, so I'm inclined to trust them to be the ones to end up with that allocation...

Already have all kinds of stuff for this truck (Westcott lift, wheels/tires, etc.) sitting in my garage waiting to be installed so I'm itching for an allocation, and while another color may be more likely to happen I really love the Army Green!!

I think At this point in the game they have zero
Incentive to lie. However, another dealer may receive and allocation for one before
    Them

I have mixed opinions on the under seat storage. My most typical rear seat items are a Red Oxx pack I use as luggage for work, and a heavy duty 20qt cooler also for work. The standard under seat storage will actually end up being detrimental to tossing those two items back there, strangely enough for my use the hybrid battery cover acting like a shelf probably works better. That still leaves me needing to get a good hard look at the storage behind the rear seat backs. If there is enough room for some ratchet straps, a tow strap, a non marring dead blow hammer, and the tire changing tools then it will be good to go.

Lots of room for those items and then some behind the rear seats. I was really impressed with it.

Thanks. That just leaves a place to store a large extended ice scraper, wonder if one of those would fit too?

Pretty sure it would fit, depending on the scraper or brush head design.

Yeah, I agree with with storage solution behind the seats considering all I keep in the back is pretty much the items you mentioned with the addition of some jumper cables. I also agree with the battery enclosure acting as a flat shelf surface, I never considered that as something functional and already there, even after watching guys around the forums constantly coming up with ways to turn their under seats into lockable storage. Thanks for mentioning that.

This is great to hear even as I’ve seen a few people pull backs of the seats forward in couple of videos it was still hard to gauge the amount of space behind them. Thanks!

    ———

Me: The hybrid is a $3k option, I’m starting to like the idea of it.

Her: What does a hybrid do, what are the benefits?

Me: It has more power and torque which means it is probably more fun to drive and gets better gas mileage, like 1-2 mpg better. So we would save about $15 a year!

Her: That’s better gas mileage? So now you want a “1776” with a hybrid engine?

    Me: Yes

Her: So how much does that cost altogether?

Me: Close to $70k after taxes

Her: OMG! Are you serious? Who would ever pay that much for a truck?

    Me: I would….

That went better than expected, mercy. Bought her a 2018 Land Cruiser a few years ago… I don’t recall her ever asking about the price. Ha

My wife is driving my new Tundra now until the Sequoia comes out in a few months. She did the same thing with the price of my truck and accessories lol. She's pretty tight lipped about the cost of her Sequoia though lol.

Well played, sir! It's always best to let ladies go first. Agree to the new [fill in the blank] whether it be upgrades to the house, pool, car, whatever. Then, when it's time for your toy, you get what you want without guilt.

Just poking some fun. No doubt we'd get along fine around a campfire. He'd be last in line if I was choosing players for any sport team though.

I like his video content. I'm still trying to figure out if there is a better 4WD SUV tow vehicle than the '19 Sequoia.

I didn't realize being fit was a prerequisite for knowing a lot about trucks.

seems like they added a bunch of BS to get that almost to a platinum trim price?
