Grabbed a combo box of Meguairs Quick Detail spray and clay bar. If I understand correctly- spray the detail spray on an area, then kneed the clay into a disc shape in your palms and wax. (Any certain direction this needs to be done? Clockwise?)
After, wax (scrub) off with a microfiber towel (all I use for drying and such on my truck)

Was going to try this on my tail gate first and move from there.

Similar, but there are experts on here who have been through this and probably found a different, more effective way. ;)

The clay bar will remove impurities. Some like to wax afterwords. It removes deep down grime and things that get into the paint that you can't see with the naked eye. I would do a normal wax when you are finished. Whatever you do though do not drop that clay bar on the ground or it is toast. It will pick up dirt and scratch your ride.

Using the clay bar it time consuming if you do it properly. If followed by waxing (which I do) you will be very pleased with the end result. I do it once a year.

Holy hell this is a lot of truck to wax. Almost done with the claybar process.

I'm thinking the polishing compound is to be done next?

    Flux capacitor!
If you like to detail your truck I would suggest a good quality Dual Orbital buffer. I recently bought a Flex 3401 Dual Orbital polisher and it has made a significant difference on my truck detailing. It cost a good chunk up front but I was able to remove almost all the imperfections. It makes my paint look better than when it was brand new. Saves me a ton of time and arm fatigue.
