No rubbing issues with 275/65/20 on TRD Sport

How are you liking your tire set-up? I have a 2021 TRD Sport and am thinking about upgrading the tires in a few weeks when I take off the snows (Ontario). Any rubbing (forward or reverse) in the time that you had them? What are you litre/100km?

They have 33,000 km on them now and they are still doing fine. Never rub, I keep them at around 36-38 psi and the ride is firm because load range E. not really sure in comparison to stock tires as I drove to the tire shop a few km down the road when new.

L/100km is never good, but summer highway I see high 13’s to low 14’s after calculating for larger diameter tires

 

This should help ease you mind, can confirm x2. BFG 275/65/R20, no lift/level, stock rim and no rub for 5k miles.

I drove about 400 miles with my stock tires before the swap, I would say ride quality mildly changed and almost in a good way. I feel more confident in the way it drives vs stock, performance and appearance. E rated tires with diminished ride quality is pretty outdated these days, so no regrets. With these tires I get around 12.0 mpg with mainly city driving. Sorry, don't know the conversion. All in all, it's a good setup and I'm happy with my decision.

Edit: I don't notice road noise much at all. I've had BFG's in the past and never really had a problem. There are other good options out there, the sizing is what's important.

 

Just a quick FYI. Not all brands are sized equally.
This is a Dick Cepek compared to Nitto. Both are 275/65r20

Resurrecting an old thread here. I see multiple people say 275/65R20’s, specifically KO2s, will fit no problem on the 2020-2021 Tundra’s. Seems like there were some changes w/ skid plates to allow bigger tires to fit no problem.

@Zoso’s post scares me about different brands outside of KO2. My dealer is telling me to stay away from the KO3’s, so I’m looking at the Nitto Terra Grappler G3’s. Don’t want to do any cuts/mods, etc.

Any chance someone has fit these tires? I have 2021 Tundra SR5 TRD Sport. Thx!!

 

I have 285 60R20 on mine. I put thes on after replacing factory suspension with 6112/5160. Even with the inch or so lift, there was some rubbing. The suspension installer did some trimming to eliminate the rub. So, they can be fitted.

 

Different tire than you are considering but thought I'd post for a reference.
Using stock 20" rims with Falken Wildpeak 275/60R20s with stock suspension, no mods and zero rubbing.

 

Good to know - it does seem like anything that size fits no problem.

How do you like those? They are towards the top of the list for me but that would be ~20lb per tire heavier than the stock tires… seems like a big hit to me. Nitto’s/Toyo’s even seem much lighter but I’m not totally convinced that 80lb will actually make a difference or not.

 

Find them much better on snow/ice than BFGs I had on previous trucks.
Have had these on the truck since I bought it new, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

 

I know the G2s have a tighter tread pattern then the BFGs not sure about G3s. I think the G2s would be better on snow and ice for that reason.

 

Yeah the tire shop seems to have had some issues with balancing with the KO3s recently. They are recommending Toyos or Nittos as a good all around tire and easy to maintain long term
