And a likely a few weeks delivery.
I might be the Guinea pig. I just swapped in the Odyssey this past week. Apparently it’s the same people, same assembly line, same factory as Northstar. Just different color packaging.

Nevertheless, I think I'll get another Northstar while the stock is out there.

Check the build date if you can. Sounds like they stopped making them last summer.

So I trimmed down the GM diode and went to install it, but everything I've read says it replaces the stock 7.5 amp fuse labeled ALT-S. My stock fuse is a 5 amp. Anyone have the 5 amp? Am I still okay to swap with the GM diode? Thanks.

My original fuse in ALT-S was 5 amp. Just checked and confirmed.

Thanks, I'll go ahead and swap them. The discrepancy had me stumped.

Thank you for the reminder. Fell into the trap of thinking batteries have been sealed for decades. Just finished topping off each cell. In August it will be 7 years old. Replacement is on the horizon whether it shows signs of failing or not.
Thanks again man, sometimes it takes someone pointing out the obvious to turn on the light.

You're good man. Not much difference between 5 and 7.5A.. I realize it's 50% but really, you're good and will have no issues.

Fun fact, did the GM diod on my 08 tundra. You have a 50/50 shot on the “arrow direction”.

Get it wrong battery light comes on. Get it right 14.3volts to my scangauge and no dash lights.

I'm planning on doing this as well swapping out the fuse for the GM diode. To those that swapped out to the diode, do you guys remember which direction the "arrow" pointed? Is it pointed toward front of the truck?

    Thanks

Everstart at Walmart! Interstate batteries are NOT made the way they used to be.
    Cost and warranty are tops!

We use Deka on both our Toyota's as well as my previous Tundra. Seem to provide reliable service for several years.

Odyssey makes their replacement now since the companies merged. Do you have the GM diode or the HKB?

That's a good question, where do you see which one you got? Is it on the label?

The diode looks like a fuse - you replace the Alt-S fuse in your underhood panel with it to boost the stock charge to your AGM since it won't get fully charged otherwise. HKB is the more expensive option that has a built-in fuse but is only made in Australia

Looks like I need to pick up one of those fuses and swap mine out. I did not know this, where do I get one of those fuses?!

    Bingo

Make sure you get the "arrow" facing the same direction as in the picture.

Amd you have to trim it a bit, cut off the little side tab for it to fit.

If you have a OBD plug in with the app it should show you the voltage.

    Mine shows 14.2

I'm running a Ultraguage in my truck! I believe when its running it sits about 13.8-14 or so. I'll check it out when I go out to pickup lunch shortly!
