Did some towing yesterday heavy trailer and an is300 on it through the hills (ie: stayed in 1st/'L' for quite a while). Was unsure how she'd hold up given stock brakes and no trailer brakes, so kept it slow and minimal braking. About 100-120 miles, 50+ of which was in 'L'. Filled up at 150mi and averaged 12mpg.

Also adjusted my rear brakes yesterday before towing. 1 click and they work.

Yep it is but I don't have a spring compressor and the weight of these ( postage costs) you'd be better off with a new set, you can have them if you want to pick them up?

Unfortunately that’s a bit of a haul for me. Oh well I tried. No biggie. The cost to get those would be greater than just going ome 881 springs on my 2002 taco

Rez went up 30 cents so far since I filled up.

Which Milwaukee do you have? Is it the smaller portable one?

    upload_2022-3-6_14-36-15.jpg

I'd take an ARB over the Milwaukee for a road tripper especially if you explore bigger tires because 1. much higher flow rate 2. the duty cycle 3. no need for battery/charger/inverter and 4. hard mounted in the truck where you don't have to think about it and it's ready when you need it. Number one and two are factors I constantly see people overlooking on this forum.

A single ARB would be even more compact and an option depending on end goal.

How often do you see shocks with leaks at the welds? One of my stock front shocks popped a leak on the weld but it wasn't rusty.

What did you end up getting? Michelin defenders? I'm trying to get a 275/70/16 set and they can't be had for love or money.

Great , I was told by Michelin they are off the production line for 4 weeks so I might as well wait for them to start up again, meant to be a great tire from all the reviews I've read.

I gotta say, I have OBA on the Taco and all and that stuff is great. But im pretty damn impressed with my m12 inflator actually. For the price, id recommend one to anyone that already has/is using other tools on the m12 platform.

Expect $5 by the end of the month. Cali likely being 6.50 more more. Shits going to get ugly

Hopefully I’m proven wrong. But I doubt it

Yup, it's that one. Does fine, but I don't think I'd go too much over stock once I have the 17s on. Not planning for huge lift. Similar to how it already sits, but with a better ride.

I bought them 4runner rims from @Cummins3500 when I went to Chattanooga. Ugh

I'm trying to decide what's next for mine. I really need an easier way to put it on and off.

I may go with a rack and the roof top tent idea, just not sure I'm feeling climbing up and down a ladder.

I watched an older couple with a RTT when I was in peniscola. Let me see if I can find the post, but long story short... they struggled getting down the ladder in the dark. I thought the older lady was gonna break a hip.

Yeah, there's no way that's happening. I practically need a ladder to get into the bed of the truck as it is. Maybe a low profile rack with a tent sitting below cab height.

Been using a "Turbo Tent" for years. Pretty awesome canvas ground tent that sets up real easy, but it's also big and heavy.

I think this is the one looks promising
    RTT (2).jpg

But I put my RTT on the rack on the cap on the Tacoma bed on the military trailer frame.
Disconnect from tow rig Dejour, insert pintle lock, head to town leaving RTT camp behind. Just simpler.
But then I bought another RV. Really should sell the RTT trailer rig. Eh.
That Fuso pop-top looks like fun.

I'm on 33s and getting 17 mpg highway, probably 14 city.

Even with 4x4 I don't think your mileage should be that low. How's your tire pressure?

Not yet but there’s about 5” of clearance when the hood is down but not latched. Should have plenty of room, if not i can drop the legs another 1/2”.

It would bug me blocking the p/s res.

I really want to get an aluminum p/s res made and relocate mine to open that spot up.

This is where mine was going, it's the best place under the hood in these trucks. The power steering fluid cap can be removed from my mock ups, but even if not, pfft. I've never opened it myself.

^ The best spot. But, if you are willing to do an apparent shit load of changing things, this is OK too.

I’ve opened that res up once in 2 years. I can live with it being blocked.
