Shovel rack?

So I emptied my bed out again as I do every couple months. When I do this I usually find things I've lost. so with the stuff I pulled out of the bed I made a shovel rack. It's ugly and rigged together but it works and it's on the deck rail system. This is my version 1 of it. down the road I'll probably fab something out of metal and make it more visually appealing. I couldnt find anything online for sale that would take more than 2 small shovels and I usually have at least 3 spades and a bunch of others.
So here it is hopefully someone's got a less ugly idea for this. I hate the look but it works and goes under my tonno cover.
This was my bed 3 weeks ago, it's was a bit worse when I emptied it.

 

If it keeps the stuff from rattling around, it's a win in my book

I looked at those but I don't think I could fit enough of them in. I might mount a few of those to my tool box for my short shovel and machetes.

 

If you space them right, you could definitely fit 3 maybe 4

I'll give it a shot. I could even do one side with my rigged setup and one with the cleaner looking quick fists and see which one holds up.

 

Don't know how you feel about this idea but my work truck has a horizontal 8 inch PVC tube that I can slip shovels, poles, glow rods, and anything else I need in there. You can get different sizes if it works better. They are bracketed to the side of the bed. I can take pics in the morning if you need

 

And you don't need that whole kit. You just need a few mini quickfists. The regular quickfists are a little large for shovels.

 

Or package a few into one large quickfist

 

I appreciate the idea. But I've been trying to stay away from that style of mounting. Mines a work Truck but I still need it to look like a grocery getter. I might mount something like that on my trailer that's a great idea.

 

I might try and stick other things in there. Minis it is I was curious which ones would work.

How about a drawer system to conceal? My buddy decked out the bed and kept all tools under the decking that sits on top of the wheel well mounds

 

I might have to look into the drawer system. I currently have a crossover toolbox and a crap load of tools on my back seats. This truck goes from the city to the fields on the daily so I try to keep it as low profile as possible.

 

Drawer systems aren't cheap but I've seen some great homemade stuff too. These are some examples of the general idea

 

I wouldn't mind dropping the money as long as it lasts me. if they made some sort of contraption that held 10 hand tools exactly how.I needed I'd be all.over it.
I might have to look into a pack rat or a decked system now that you've given me the idea. I picked up the toolbox with the idea that I'd only have it for the winter till I figured something out but as you can see I can't seem to let go of it. It's just so handy to have.

That's awesome. I've seen the decked system and the weather gaurd pack rat. but that one looks really heavy duty. I'll have to look into it some more. I just have to find enough space to take all of the tools from the crossover box, without taking up more bedspace than the crossover box. I like the idea of the drawers I didn't think of it but that is probably because I liked the crossover. it works but it also advertises the fact that I have a bunch of tools.

 

Here's a little update on my bed organization.
This isn't everything I have on me daily but it's some of the stuff I start out with before it starts stacking up.
I ordered some quick fists for my smaller shovels and pickaxes. I also looked at a small pack rat bed drawer. I might have to switch over from my regular toolbox to a drawer system.
