I've got a grease gun that lived in the laundry room while we were living in Hawaii. It was likely subject to water.

Is the grease still good? Should I toss the whole lot and start over?

Most grease have a shelf life of 3 to 5 years, unless it’s exposed to moisture. I get a new tube to safe.

6-12 months depending on whether it lithium or calcium based. The thickener that's added to the grease is the culprit for concern. If it separates from the grease due to long storage, it can cause trouble in whatever you're lubing. The performance of pump or gun you are using will decline if a tube is left inside a gun for a period of time too.
Would you use 5 Year old oil in your truck? Noooo

So your vote is to toss the whole lot? I kind of like the peace of mind that way.

    Yes
They're fairly inexpensive for the simple peace of mind.

Most grease is synthetic base we use in our trucks. If you grease your own truck you can’t use a tube of grease in 12 months for normal driving. The 3 years comes from the grease makers and that’s for a open tube and the 5 years is for unopened tubes. If your not sure of course replace it.

Isn't oil made out of dino juice that has been around for millions of years? So what's an extra 5 years on top of that?

    Pretty things
Replace the grease cuz water is yucky. Brondo!

Also, I might be missing something, but I personally wouldn't hesitate to use 5YO oil...so long as it's in a Mobil 1 container.
