I went with the TRD Pro Fox shocks after all . Just got the everything on today. Haven’t driven enough to give a fair assessment of ride quality improvement, etc. just yet.

With the CB +2 shackles in the rear, I have about a 1.5” rake.

The rear gained about 0.5” when I installed the fox pro shocks. We’ll see if they settle out and I’ll report back.

Mine measured 1” difference when I put the trd Pros on the rear. No idea why or how.

No clue, went from 40.5” ground to top of wheel well to 41”. Only thing changed was the rear shocks.

Mine never settled back down either.
I posted the same results (+0.5-0.75" with an empty bed after installing the TRD Fox shocks in the rear). Everyone was all, "You idiot! Shocks don't add lift!" Yeah, except maybe they do add a very small amount of lift when they are substantially different than the set you removed.

The best way I can think of it is like this: the shock absorber actually does exert a vertical force against its mounts. We know this because it's difficult to compress, right? Stand it on the ground, and lean your entire upper body onto it. You can get it to compress, but it is difficult. That is because there is a force working against you. Well, that same force works with the leafs to push up on the frame. That is, it exerts a force in the same direction. Now consider the extra length of the shock. The TRD Fox shock is substantially longer at rest than the TRD Off Road Bilstein that it replaced on my truck. I think the minimal amount of force it exerts coupled with the excess length actually does make a difference in ride height with an empty bed. That was my observation and apparently others' observations as well.

If there is a better explanation or something else going on entirely, I'm curious to hear it.

My buddies 20 TRD pro is about 3/4 inch higher than my 2018 Platinum in the rear as well. I also went with TRD pro fox’s. Waiting on one front coil over then install.

Sorry for bringing back an old topic. I’m looking to order the trd fox suspension from sparks parts. What do I need to order from them? Front left, front right, two rear and only one speed sensor bracket?

I wasn’t sure how many brackets I needed to order. At first thought I needed four brackets.

I have a 2014 platinum with 20” wheels that I just bought. I’m planning on going to 17 or 18 inch wheels. Do I need to expect this as well?

Yeah. My new wheels and tires ended up being the same diameter , but for whatever reason it wigged out. There was a post somewhere that showed how to jump the ODBII , I think, with a paper clip to enter the recalibration. But I never could find it again. You may be able to ask the dealer or any tech the price, knowing what the issue is, and get it much cheaper than I did. Maybe a google search will help out. It literally took them less than 5 minutes.

You should have nothing to worry about, I went from stock 20's to 17's now to 18's and never had any problems. Fox TRD Pros! 792169C0-D952-405D-B60D-3310AF267A83.jpg

Let me know if you needed to do it or not.
Now I’m interested what triggers it.
