Waiting for SCS Ray 10's to be back in stock and was researching on some tires. I am looking into the Michelin LTX AT2 's and while researching I noticed the tread is different from pics on various tire websites. It looks different then the Michelin tread on the Tundra Pro's. Any thoughts? I am thinking about getting 275/70/R18. Thanks

The tread is slightly different between the p rated and LT rated tires

This ^. The AT2 is not bad, but the Michelin Defender is a better tire and I would choose it over the At2 every time.

    hey all,
    sorry to highjack a thread,

I need 4 new tires on a stock height '03 AC. as the ones I have now won't pass rego due to 'dry rot'. I rarely ever go off the tarmac, looking at 285/75/16, ( I have new 16 x 8 steelies with a 4 inch BS).

I can't seem to find any tire places with any stock in sizes remotely similar 275 or 70 series.

Any ideas on a very similar tire with the same characteristics as the defender LTX?

    thanks in advance.

If you have a discount tire, americas tire near you they can hook you up. Or try tirerack.com, they will send them to you and you can have a shop install. Tirerack may also have mobile mounting service as well.

Thanks for your reply, The first two are more than 250 miles from me so they are saying I cannot order(upstate NY) tirerack are all out of stock, they have 2 of the 275/70/16's.

I might have a look at Coopers Discovery AT3's?

Agree so much I replaced the stock AT2s with the Defender tire. Much quieter tire. I bought them at Costco with a Michelin rebate. All 4 tires came in under $1,000 out the door.

Thanks. Yeah everyone is out of stock, I rang Michelin directly and they are out and not going back into production with defenders for another 4 weeks so thats at least six until they hit the stores.
