Any idea when they will be available? I'd like to replace the mustache and rear bumper pieces.

I'm checking with a random I found on Instagram that turns out bought his Tundra from the same place I have mine on order from. Link to his IG below, but basically he said in his posts that the shop he used scanned the lunar rock for color match, and they sanded the chrome areas and painted. To me it looks damn good, but maybe somebody who knows more than me can spot if areas look crappy because I certainly can't...

    https://www.instagram.com/r4tundra/

So I just messaged him about where he had that done to see if they'll do the same for me. Maybe that knowledge can be passed on to your local shops to do the same...

I love this forum!! I think my friends shop is concerned about longevity more than initial quality. Thank you for the insight, I may hold off on the appearance stuff and enjoy the truck for a bit.

You can rattle can anything to look good for a day.
I’m going to go the route of get blank pieces and have a shop color match or paint black and install my self. Less other people taking apart my truck and probably cheaper..

I wish I had that patience! I'm probably making those adjustments week 1, and I'm an idiot to do so because of the potential cost, but the longevity of the solution won't be an issue if the OEM replacement mustache is $65.

I've chrome deleted my 05 mirror caps with shitty liner. This time after stripping them, I sanded them with 120 grit for a better in my opinion spray. You would be surprised how hard that plastic chrome is. It was like sanding aluminum or glass.

Got a pretty hopeful and exciting update for chrome deleting the mustache and back bumper panels...

So I called the shop R4T used and asked for a quote on sanding and painting. He mentioned they didn't guarantee that service, which I didn't really care, shortly after that he went into his system that allows ordering from dealers and said those parts are available to order from the dealership... They come primed in black, and he would guarantee the work. I think the big question is whether or not Toyota is producing and sending those. I can totally see a situation where they allow them to be seen on parts ordering systems, but then they are put into a backlog and ship when available.

He is going to keep me posted on that ordering and I will update here. I think the fact that they are available to order in his system is promising regardless... Copy of my estimate is attached in case anyone is curious about cost and the parts listing.

    Estimate - 22 Tundra.jpg

Yep, I check on these parts a couple of times a week. They're not at the distribution centers quite yet.

I can vouch that this is true.
I bought my TRD Pro grille and MGM hood bulge (as well as TRD Pro halogen headlights) from @Roman in 2015.
I had to buy a black hood bulge and have it painted locally, Toyota didn't offer the Pro grille in MGM in 2015.

In the end, the locally painted Grille (and letters) matched the truck better than the prepainted hood bulge.
No-fault of Roman, it is what it is.

Aftermarket tires? Wasn't aware Toyota made tires lol. The ones they come with also don't have sidewall ratings for heavy towing, I only run E rated tires for that for practical purposes. They are OEM size though. Sorry you were butt hurt by my comment.

don't worry man, with the amount of chrome and that mustache not being color matched, as soon as you can get these parts, you're going to be booming again.

I test drove the other day and asked if they could color match the stash for me and they acted like I was asking them to redsign the truck, we cant order parts, you have to have a VIN the platinum is all different, blah, blah.

like dude, the stash the same on every truck, never mind, I'll just call Roman if I buy one and have a local painter match it up

I would need the stash, fender flares, and tailgate piece for a platinum color matched to blueprint like the TRD Sport has.

most of what you see on my platinum tundra and some things you don't (try sway bar, etc) was all from you guys

now, how do I get some 18" black wheels from toyota, LOL for the 2022, seems to be impossible, they have the black ones at 20" on the TRD package, and Im guessing they want like 2gs for the TRD Pro ones, lol. or they will VIN limit those?

ya they did that BS back in the old days too when all of us at tundra solutions wanted teh anthracite TRD wheels off the FJ, they VIN limited it

of course we got around that, HEHE.

hard to believe I've been on tundra forums modding these things for 22 years now, wow. I had a 2000 tundra in late 99, on tundra solutions April 2000, still on there. at one time that site was the gold standard.

the 18”s aren’t black , I was referring to the trd pro that’s not even out yet, that’s the only tundra that has black 18”s, those will be stupid pricey though
