I make pancakes basically every weekend (sundays before church). usually we eat them with peanut butter and maple syrup. if i can get my hands on a quality syrup, i skip the peanut butter.

if you don't butter the griddle before pouring the batter, you're doing it wrong

 

Port Allen Bakery. The neighbors have sent 4 others from the other bakery and they never had juice pouring out of them. I noticed a big cream cheese frosting clump on the exterior of the cake too (not complaining), it's like the cake vomited. Strange.

 

prob got hot or something. no real reason it should be like that. packaging may have been sub-par as well. if you can....try meche's. had them before and damn good

The other ones came from Meches. Realized it as soon as I clicked the link. Freaking awesome King Cakes. I remember the first one they sent. I opened it up and it didn't look like anything great. Then I took a bite and it was damn near life changing.

 

I put syrup on them, and it soaks into them, but I don't put enough on for it to create a lake on my plate.

company near us (bread company) makes a pretty good one. a donut shop near us makes a damn good one too.
if you have a rouse's nearby, try the cookie butter

 

speaking of mardi gras.....the main drag in Lake Charles is shut down all day until about midnight. typical and expected though.

 

The lake of syrup is the good part.
Plus, it gives somewhere to dip your bacon or sausage.

 

Syrup is for bread items only. Keep it the hell away from my eggs, sausage, bacon, or potatoes, you savage.

Syrup is the thing that doesn't mix. If you need to dip your sausage (calm down @Fotnot) or bacon then you do fried eggs and dip in the yolk.

FALSE. Bacon dipped in syrup is a gift from God.

Bacon dipped in runny egg yolks is also a gift from God.

 

syrup does mix, though I’m down with the yolk in there as well.

I question this without physical evidence.

The skin of a hog dipped into the fetus of a chicken drizzled with a lil bit of maple tree tears is pretty amazing
