Good morning, for those that have installed the electrical side on a E Locker. How much disassembly is needed to run the wire from the front diff area? I have a TRD Pro, hoping the skid plate does not have to come off! The front and rear diff were re-geared and added a E Locker to the front, they don't wire it though.

Running the wire to the diff could be a 15 min job or a 2 hour one... I appreciate any insight.

    Thank you

I believe the skid plate will have to come off unless you got plastic man arms. Then the wire will have to be carefully ran up top to avoid any areas that can compromise it. Def not a 15 min job. I'm guessing maybe 9-10 days if you work fast.

Did my rear yesterday. Do you have all the harness done and just need to run the line to the diff? Or are you starting from the beginning?

That main cable to the locker is really important to be properly secured. Pick a good route and avoid your steering and manifolds. Make sure there is a slack section for full droop of the front end. It's a good idea to secure the plug at the differential so the two little wires and plug aren't taking the weight of the larger wrapped cable. I think you want all the room you can get to do the work so skid should come off.

Generally great advise, my only add is the front diff is stationary on IFS, no need to add any extra wire for droop. If your front diff droops, you have bigger problems. :)

Do you know how to test it in garage conditions?

I assume jacking up the front end would work. Checking to see if it engages.

Yes, if you are by yourself, jack up one side, one tire on the ground. Unlocked and in neutral. 4WD off. Spin the elevated tire. then engage your locker. Elevated tire should spin a few degrees and stop.
