What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

I added some useful items.

Quadlock phone mount with charger and damper. Mic mount. Ram mount for passenger. Also the center console mount for all the stuff I added lol.

 

Huh. I didn't know there was a molle rack thing for 1st gen. Looks great.

lol. I had to cycle the rear suspension to make sure my locker wiring was routed right. Then I remembered the earlier posts and grabbed a shot. Looks good though.

 

I never get good opened up pics from the trail, last trip the old lady had one job, one! And she said it was a shitty video/pic! Damnit!!!
Pretty sure I’ll do those hammer hangers, and possibly their shackles? And then I guess I’ll call and see if I should do medium or heavy duty springs

Yeah it is a bit, but I’m using the ol it’s got some miles on them argument-to myself haha and like you I’ve added some junk in the trunk. I know for a fact I hit my bump stops harder than ever in the cinders in Flag, I had grease from my rear slip joint ALLLLLL OVER the underside after that trip!

Yes, do shackles last. The springs are the big change and focus. The shackles give you an adjustment if you want less rake, or to sit more middle shock.

 

Awesome, that’s kinda what I was trying to wrap my brain around. I also lifted my rear end and took her to 65, pretty sure gears or bearings need to happen soon too……

 

I'm curious to see where these 4.88s rev to at highway speed. Im just babying them in town for now. Coasting does have more engine brake like a down shift with stock gears. So, It could feel like shutting off overdrive on the highway.

 

Even though I’m on “33s”
I think I’m going to do 4.88s after talking to two buddies that did 4.88 and lockers and then all the turd gens that claim go big or go home with the 5.29s, it makes sense, it’s not a HUGE jump in rpm, and I’m 97.897889% city miles……

 

Im no expert, but I think 4.88/33" is the sweet spot. 5.29 is 35 territory. Both for performance not MPG. I'm on a big 32.

 

The other thing is with every step, the pinion gets smaller. Things have to spin faster and heat builds up way quicker. No problem for a dedicated off road truck. But the truck that's going to get you there needs to be highway strong. With my tire size I think I'm on the edge.

 

Playing with the chalk bag cup holder mod. May take a little thought to square them up, but cool little idea someone had.

 

Im leaning towards 4.88 gears when I go to 33s on my next set of tires. My only difference is i have a manual transmission. I keep reading that some people say 4.56 for a manual trans and 4.88 for the auto. Im still leaning towards going 4.88 though. Any input is much appreciated!

 

I have 4 cupholders in elbow's reach in my truck.
I almost never use them.
I can't imagine adding any more.

 

I am constantly using mine. I have 6 but I rarely use the pull outs though. These may stay may not. They may hold stuff other than drinks.

Post a pic. I only have 2 plus the pull out ones which are almost useless for any cup I own. You have bucket seats I guess?

 

Yeah buckets.
2 in dash (pull-out)
2 next to knee in center console
2 next to elbow in rear of center console (likely for backseat, but apparently 73" makes me a giant and my seat is pretty far back)

I'll try to grab a snap sooner than later.

 

Taken from an earlier post of mine, you can see the rears, then there's the two where my woodgrain is, then the pull-out double in the dash to the right of the ash tray.

 

This is just like mine, save for color scheme and wood and leather.

 

That reminds me, online I saw a Ridgeline modded with captain's chairs and a center console in the rear. 10 cupholders, he must be one thirsty mofo.

 

Please tell me I'm not the only one that's been tempted to install googley eyes on the console.
