Anybody run these as ditch lights? Do they put out enough light to actually be useful on a trail at night? I like the smaller size compared to the SS3, but it's half the output.

We honestly get more people buying/using SSC2s as ditch lights vs SS3s. They are low profile and have impressive specs for their size. If you are using them on trails and what not (especially lower speeds) these will be plenty of light. Many will snag up the sports, but if you are running them as your sole aux light I would recommend the pros though.

I have the DD SSC2 Pros SAE/DOT FOG Amber model and they are great. They have couple of different options for beam patterns. I would buy them again. I think the flood or spot models would be more than enough light for ditch. Just depends on your speed for application. Faster driving you need to throw light further. The pros are back lit so you can wire them up to your DRLs or wire it separately.

I have the SSC2 sports as ditch lights. They are the combo ones and they put out a good amount of light. I imagine I would be happier with the Pros, I hate to admit it, but I’d like a little more light than the sports put out.

Not sure if the Inferno would clash with @BlueRibbon4x4's other color matched stuff...

Could work. Blue and orange.... You a Denver Broncos fan?

For an actual accent you could try matching your wheels. You're a damn paint matching wizard, so why not?

Ha, thanks! But my inability to leave things alone is making me wanna go darker bronze on them.
But I really didn’t wanna hijack the thread. Are the Pro SSC2s that much brighter than the sports? I have the SS3 for fogs that would be awesome for ditch lights. But they seem so obtrusive on the hood.

It's a pretty solid jump, and those are stabilized output numbers.

I may swap them out. Do they use the same harness as the sports so I don’t have to rewire the hood? I can use the new harness and sports as chase lights.

Same harness. Even the light duty one has enough headroom for the C2 pros.

They should all be 4 pin DT connections. My SSC1 Pros work great as chase lights, so the C2s should be even better. You might need to extend the harness to reach the bed, depending on where you're mounting. I used some 18/3 copper stranded wire (SJOOW) to run from the engine bay to the bed, then across the bed between the cab and bed in wire loom.

The Cali-raised low profile ones. They’re a quick order from Amazon.

Whups. @helidave you should order from @memario1214 If I decide on the pros that’s where I’ll order instead of big corporate.

I'd never sell ya CR lighting equipment. Their in-house brackets and metal work isn't terrible though for the most part. We personally run SDHQ, but don't sell them. SDHQ won't have us

lol, I’ve been doing that a lot lately.

I have the SDHQ brackets and i love them, the extra point of contact really helps to stabilize them. Even with the weight of the S1 hanging off the side of the XL Racer.
