2020 TRD Pro CrewMax here, with the factory Fox 2” and a ReadyLift +4.

Currently running Toyo Open Country A/T III, 285/75R18, with stock BBS TRD Pro rims (PT9603420002). These rims have a +60 offset, so I have 2” SpiderTrax spacers to push the tires to the edge of the wheel wells. I’d prefer to go back to a native mount.

My goal is to get to a 12.5 tire width, thinking BFGs. I know that will likely require new rims at 0 offset. My truck is Midnight Black Metallic, so I’d prefer a high quality black satin sort of rim. We take frequent trips to the Outer Banks of NC, and and wider tires are advantageous on the sand. I’d also like to have a more aggressive-looking stance.

Would appreciate any thoughts on whether the wider tire would cause issues, concerning the best way to accomplish the goal here.

    Thanks much!

read over some of the lift threads in the suspension and wheel/tire forum. Good info w pics, details on fitting 1250s. Rim offset is key, too little and you rub UCA, to much and you will rub body mount and other places. You can do a BMC for clearance. You have some reading to do.

The reason I love my 285/75s is because I can use stock UCAs, no spacers, stock rims, and have no issues. It's the most sidewall I can get without changing the geometry of anything underneath the truck aside from a 2" lift up front which I got with the TRD Fox coilovers.

I don't have any personal experience with 12.5" wide tires, but maybe someone else can comment on all the trimming they had to do. I agree with @frichco228 that you have to pay attention to offset with that wide of a tire so you clear your UCAs. You'll also likely have to trim fender liners and maybe do a CMC. I haven't trimmed anything myself. I have also read that a really wide tire, especially when less tucked, makes your turning radius a lot bigger, but again I don't have any experience with that.

I prefer the OEM+ setup of the 285/75s. I have great suspension travel and have kept the tighter turning, which is very valuable to me, particularly off-road.

    Many pending.....
Should be good to go with minimal trimming and possibly BMC. Just stepped up to 35x12.5 BFG KO2 on my ProPlus 2”. Minimal front fender liner rub and contact on body mount in full lock reverse on RT side only. I had already accepted that some light trimming and BMC might be needed.
